Question about Deadbolt PFK Touchpad Electronic Lockset

Kwikset smart code touchpad electronic deadbolt

Worked fine since June 2008. Now it beeps as if someone is hitting keys on the ouside keypad. Also beeps continuously for about 10 seconds. I have installed 4 new batteries, but same problem.

    i have two of these kwiksets, both have same problem, worked for 4 months, then started beeping and couldnt access the keypad, it went dead, now i am back to using keys to go in and out, whats up withthis kwikset, im tired of being lockedout in a keyless world.

    Same probllem - started beeping - no longer will lock or recognize keypad functionality.. Help... (of course - out of warranty).

I have the same problem, electronic locking system went dead but still beeps, stuck using keys now...according to the kwikset website though it says "Warranties cover the original residential user of Kwikset Products against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed." so hopefully they will fix the problem

    Won't cover mine. I have the same problem. The warranty only covers the finish, and defects. It doesn't cover electrical. Apparently my keypad has a short and needs to be replaced. At least that's what they told me over the phone. $15 for the part.

Your lock is under one year warranty, with a lifetime warranty if the problem is mechanical or the finish.

The keypad stopped working. I replaced the batteries and it beeps, but the keypad is still not working - random beeps, but when I try to reset there is no response.

I installed the Kwikset 907 model last night and it was working fine. Tested it several times, showed the family, etc...Everything worked great. My son left for 10 minutes and came home and it no longer...

is the "manual" for the installation of the lock. Programming instructions are found on Page 6.

I'd recommend changing the 4 alkaline AA batteries at the same time.

Kwikset's warranty covers one year electronics defects and lifetime coverage for the mechanical movement and finish.

The back light is not working on our kwickset keypad smart controller.


When your door is locked, you must hit lock again before entering your code. After you hit lock the second time the LED back light will come on.
