My KP-51WS510 cut out on me this morning, and I am almost certain it's the FBT and I cant seem to find a dealer with the part I need, the part number is 148328521 and the dealers who happen to stock it won't ship it to Canada, If anyone could possibly point me in the right direction or if you possibly know of a dealer who can ship it to Canada for a reasonable price it would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

If your FBT was bad you would not even get no flashes, set will only click , sony has a high voltage capacitor located next to hori output transistor small blue 1200pf 2,000 volts 2k most of them develop small pin hole causing set to shut down.Hori output could also be shorted.FBT is gray in color has 2 wires coming out of top of it red&black one lead goes to high voltage trippler other goes to focus&screen control block.

There are two chips behind the large heat sink that need to be replaced. Also, depending on how the chip(s) failed, the fuses should be checked as well. They are very small, wired in, and right below the heat sink on the side nearest the back of the tv. There are 4 and they are brown in color. Can you unsolder and solder in the new chips? The cost for parts would be around $40.00.
