If you go to this site, you can get all of the drivers for the Optiplex GX 520. Please make sure you select the correct version of Windows that you are running (Windows XP, Vista, or 7). Then, select "Audio" from the drop-down list, and download the driver for ADI 198x Integrated Audio.

If you're running Windows XP, you can just click here to go directly to the driver download.

Once you download the driver, just double-click the file to start the installer.

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.dell.com
and enter the Dell Asset Tag (black text on a white sticker on the back of the case)
to find all the information, including device-drivers, for your specific system.

I am troubleshooting a dell Optiplex Gx 270 desktop computer that initially had a yellow question mark in the device manager for the Multimedia audio contrroller and still produces no audio. I dowloaded...

Obvious things - make sure that your speakers are connected - desktops don't generally have internal speakers - and make sure the volume is turned on/up or is not muted. Go to settings>Control Panel>sounds/audio devices.

If all looks ok, go back into device manager and right click the audio controller and delete it. Then reboot the computer. It will automatically reinstall on reboot.
