I have a 94 MAXIMA SOHC and my car use to run perfect untill recently it started running bad idleing real rough and when im driving i have to mash into the gas pedal to get moving because the car is very hesitant and spuddering.The car is ideling so low that it is about to kill.It seems like the fuel pump is pumping and stopping the whole time im driving.I do complete tune ups often so i dont think its that.Is it possible for the fuel pump to weaken and make the car run bad and shakey like its missing?

I changed the fuel filter and put a new one.I disconnected the fuel line from the top of the filter turned the key on and fuel shot straight up at my hood with alot of pressure so i dont think fuel getting to the motor is a problem.I changed the fuel pump relay also thats located in the trunk.something strange is going on that i cant figure out.Does anyone know what can cause my car to idle low sputter and run rough like the cars tyming is wrong?

known problem is the connection at the injectors check for green where the wires are connected to the injectors or check the air filter maybe dirty listen for a vacuum leak this car has lots of known problems
Vacuum leak.Listen for hissing around motor. check spark plugs.Idle positioning sensor. Idle Air Valve. IAC clogged dirty/clean an inspect for air leaks. I have an Nissan 300zx an they are located on back side of engine on driver side. It runs into the Pentium Intake between two 3/4 in rubber hoses/Driverside--Change plugs an wires.
Check for Leak in your Heater Core... ie; Passanger Side floor board. up the carpet to the Firewall and behind the center Console. If this is a Slow leak the carpet might not show wet. Check the padding under the carpet.
92 max
I own a 92 max 370 kms runs good but one day just cuts out while doing about 30 km, I pull over i can start it no problem but when I touch the pedal to accelerate the car stalls out.
It got worse to the point of sputtering on the highway , sometimes i could keep it alive by working the pedal but others would slow down and stall out.
I have changed the fuel filter and plugs seemed to make it a bit better but still stalling. I ran it in my driveway for 10 mins on idle then it stalls out
I had a similar problem and resolved it by replacing the mass airflow sensor. Ive got 235k+ miles on my 1992 Maxima SE.
Still runs good but having problems with the alarm system.
Try the Throttle Positioning Sensor. It's located on the throttle body. Make sure you get a genuine Nissan part though. I believe it's about 120 dollars at the dealer. But this fixed the issue for me.
Every answer here is wrong. This has been driving people nuts for 15 years. The problem is the engine wiring harness which has a bend going past the right strut tower, Nissan had a service bulletin on this in September of 1999, Google it, it's in pdf.
