No dc power from outside unit to inside unit.

The main difference of OSN8800 UPS AC/DC power is APIU (AC power interface unit) will occupy 2 slots, DC power unit only need one slot.

I had a similar problem on mine but the other way round. It turned out the PCB (circuit board) was busted on the outside so they werent communicating. Inside operated but outside didnt. If you have any electrical test equipment, disconnect com line (between outside and inside) there should be a varying DC voltage at each end. If its 0V then PCB is dead. Could also be the fan motor has packed up. Theres some places to start anyway.

You can check your AC adapter by voltmetter in Dc mode, one probe touches inside the plug, other probe touches outside, it should have dc reading if the ac adapter is working.
Your plug is slightly burnt, indicating that the DC jack is broken or loose.
Most DC jack can be replaced if you know how to solder, it costs only under $5.

I believe your DC jack needed to replace and a repair guy might charge you over $150 to replace a $3 part. You should do it yourself if you have a skill to take a laptop apart.


Car Tuning

Turbo Air units have DC inverters which allow the indoor evaporative cooling cabinet (E.C.C.) to continue running at lower ampherage.

Unplug unit pull right side cover then reconnect dc power cable unit. their is a circuit board with 3 lights :
1) Power should be lit as soon as you plug the DC power cable
2) Relay Check silver tab #4 labeled +/wht and Tab #5 Gnd/blk with a meter check DC voltage between15v and 17v if not in this range replace relay board.
3)Field this a signal is sent from the alternator,when stepping it will make the light flicker and send this signal to the upper console.
A) check alternator for black powder inside and or near the outside casing.The brushes maybe bad and can be replaced.

probably a.c. was left with out a gas,and compressor will not start and there is no cooling.

DC applied to any standard refrigerator would quickly damage the compressor motor and any fans present since these are all AC only motors.
Some (probably no longer produced) units used DC in their operation; - Peltier Efffect units that used a semiconductor device that acts as a 'heat pump,' removing heat from inside the cabinet and dissipating it outside. - A new type of compressor that hummed like a low frequency speaker and surely used DC in the generation of the driving signal.
The first proved to be less efficient than our near century old compressor system and the odd low frequency noise produced by the second could not be contained adequately for home use. 

If the heating and cooling is working O.K. and maintaining the proper temperatures it is possible that your outside unit is in its off cycle. If the inside unit is running and the outside unit is not with an elevated temperature inside check the power supply to the outside unit. Most units have a disconnect located near them. Check the disconnect and make sure it is set to the on position. Listen for a hum noise at the outside unit which could indicate that the control power is being supplied to the contactor.

Wal-Mart ectronics dept. has an "Universal DC Adapter Kit" it will have various size adapter plugs and a variable setting to adjust DC Voltage. It also should have a switch to set the polarity. I used mine to power several different devices. It was well worth the money I spent as opposed to buying a actual DC Adapter. Subsequently, the kit from Wal-Mart was far cheaper than the real deal.
