Before you go any further wait till it stops again then check for a spark and if a spark then fuel ,then i might have a better idea ,keep reply on E mail and feel free to ask again anytime allowing for time zone difference

a friend suggested starting fluid when it stopped again. . I did . . and it started right up.. ran for a few more miles but then it died again.. is that indication that the spark is good..?

firstly sorry about delay in answering but after work last night i was cream crackered plus having the guardia civil around about the cars in my yard ,as they reckon its residential ,someone has shopped me thats for sure ,right this one cutting out ,well if its starting with spray then it has to be fuel but do not go changing everything but ask a local mechanic to have a look but dont let them do any work take the car to another garage and see what they say as you be stung for new this and that and its still just as bad ,find a garage that thinks they can do it then say they can do the work providing you get to try the car for a day or two before they get paid as iam afraid they will charge you rotten and its still the same .runs 20 miles ??? foof for thought try leaving the gas tank filler cap loose of off as it could be a problem with the vapour thingy and the tank is creating a vacumn and then it cannot pump gas ,

Why is my truck misfiring/running poorly/rough idle

The old gas thing isn't good, but this seems pretty extreme unless the gas was visibly bad. Did you examine or filter it when you siphoned it to be sure it had no visible water or contaminants? Anyway, its certainly worth exploring before going farther. Make sure its got clean fresh fuel. Otherwise, maybe timing belt / chain trouble?

When the outside temp is below 30 degrees my 1994 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 will not start

lots of guesses. sure.. common here.
first would be a real tuneup , using the 60,000 mile list. for sure.
filters and spark parts. (my guess is you did)
1994 is a great year, all 93+ jeeps are good from 93 to now.
I presume this is USA car, and you scan it and there are no
DTC errors.????
seems its flooding ,
if 5% throttle makes it start, that is lack of air or flooding
if wont start and the super secret WOT crankings clear flood , then was flooded, Wide open throttle cranking , cuts all fuel (the secret)
so is , IAC/ISC stuck closed, chean it yet.
or injector leaks (pass the injector leak down test ,does it?0

got 500k miles o jeeps from 88 to 99+
and the ISC stick on them all.

the ISC is the electric, ldle speed control valve.
if it sticks closed, you cant get full air supply to start.
had to clean mine every 10 to 20k, miles.
until i found the magic, spray that cured that.
"klondike gun lube spray": looks like teflon after it dries.

that run rough started is called misfire.
and is flooding, (if injector are not leaking) its air supply wrong.
one more thing,
the ECT must read 30F when parked overnight, and was 30f.
see? a cold engine will be near ambient air, first thing, in the morning.

running old fueL:?
running summer fuel from last August?
the ECT sensor causes injections to match true temps.
make sure it reads right for all bets off.

clean ISC first. not shot gun parts
for that cash you could have got a nice scan tool.
like this.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Equus-3140-Innova-Diagnostic-Code-Scanner/14644660

the prefect tool for 93-95 jeeps. does OBD1 on JEEPS !!!!

Car not starting in morning

It sounds as though you are imitating a cold start injector by pouring fuel into intake. I would start there

Engine acts like it is out of gas keeps stalling i can turn it off for a few minutes will run for a mile or two then does it again

Vent valve has failed closed or cannister is clogged up. Have the evap system checked from the tank to the charcoal canister. If you need to drive to a mechanic, try driving with the gas cap loose.

1990 dodge Dynasty bad gas mileage and now cutting out real bad. Changed spark plug wires, spark plugs and fuel filter. Ran good for a test run right after installing items. This morning ran fine the 5...

May just be some dirty fuel, or clogged dirty air filter...try putting 2 bottles of fuel injector/carb cleaner in the tank to be sure dirty fuel has been treated. Did your Dynasty sit for a period of time? (Not driven or run for several months, or did you let the fuel tank get very low? Same remedy. Hope this helps..

We have a 1991 gmc jimmy we want to know what would cause the fuel enjectors to not fire on cold start. but we prime the motor with a little gas the motor will start and the injector will start spraying...

It sounds like an air lock or a fuel pump issue. firstly get the filter changed and bled through this might help. if the problem persists check the pump.

Chugs, acts like it's not getting gas once warmed up. Idle's fine

This problem can be several things. When your engine is cold, your computer is in a "closed loop" and just pretty much keeps the engine running until warmed up. After reaching operation temperature, the computer starts reading all the sensors. If one sensor is not connected or is defective, you will experience performance problems. Most of the time this will turn on the check engine light, but not always. Second is the fuel pump. This too will cause erratic engine problems.

1998 V70 Turbo stalls/won't re-start after engine hot

First change fuel filter and then change air filter. A turbo requires good air flow to spool-up correctly

1993 sentra jerking problems.

I wanted to just give a suggestion...do you go to the same gas station to get gas? My sentra ran horrible because I kept going to this same gas station. My gas would get low and it would start cutting off and trying to cut off. I let my fuel go to almost empty and then went to another gas station to fill up. It hasnt cut of for about 6 months now and I havent returned to that gas station.
