1991 GMC S-15 Jimmy Questions & Answers
Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1991 gmc jimmy
Thye fuelpump relay is located to the right of the brake booster. this is for a 1991 gmc jimmy (s-15)I have enclosed a diagram to help locate the relay. The most common reason for no fuel pressure on these trucks is not the relay but rather the fuelpump itself. the pump is located inside the fuel tank. There is also a problem with the wiring to the fuel pump, you will need to locate the top of the tank and then off to side of tank is wiring . This wiring comes off the top of the tank, you will need to check and there is connector problems.. there is one or two ground wires that come off wiring to top of tank which run to frame, check to make sure the grounds are good. if you end up with a bad pump you will see a notice to rewire a new fuelpump connector. hope this is helpful. good day.

Can you put Sae 10w-40 high mileage in my Gmc jimmy s15 4.3 period it has 305 thousand miles
I don't know what the manufacturers recommendation is, and probably at that high of a mileage (CONGRATS!!) they won't have one. Based on personal experience, I would say YES... the oil you have chosen to me is probably the best selection you could make... the "10W" means that at 0 degrees F in winter conditions it acts as straight #10 oil would, and the "40" indicates the weight it would act as above 70F.... you want the thinner oil viscosity in cold weather (which is still pretty thick because of the temperature) and the thicker in the warm weather due to the wear on your engine.... plus, the formulation for "high mileage" oils is specifically designed for high mileage engines with a proprietary blend of detergents and additives.
I have a 1991 GMC jimmy. Run fine until I pulled
sounds like the fuel pump is bad. check the fuel pressure with a gage is should be 35lbs. if it still won`t start now have someone try to start it while you hit the fuel tank bottom with something if it starts the pump is no good.
