SOURCE: spark igniters on the burners fire continuously

When cleaning, if the control switches get damp, they will react as you describe.
Unplug the appliance, use a hair dryer and attempt to dry the switches.
Leave it unplugged overnight and try them again tomorrow.
They will eventually dry and be OK.

SOURCE: Gas was turned off and igniters keep clicking?

As I did not see what occurred, I suspect that the tea kettle boiled over and sent water into the burners. The igniters kept clicking and I eventually turned the gas back on. Will have to replace one igniter which apparently went out and have to light it manually at this point.

Some of the control knobs on my Thermador Rangetop PCG366W sink all the way in so that you can't see the writing on the knob, is that normal? If not, is there a fix for it?

Burners Do Not Start Hand on burners The Burners Do Not Start There are several solutions for this problem: The main gas supply may not be turned on. Make sure it is turned on. Check the power supply and make sure the unit is plugged in and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Make sure the burners are properly positioned. The igniters may be dirty. Carefully wipe the igniters with a cotton swab dampened with water after they have cooled down. Gently scrape the soil off with a toothpick. Avoid exposing the igniters to excessive water as a damp igniter may not light up. Remove any lint that may remain after cleaning. The ignition will be quicker if a cooking pan is on the grate. Ignite the gas at full and once alight, turn it down to around 50%. It should lock on within 6 seconds. Does the burner click when the burner knob is in the ON position? If yes, you may have a wiring issue at the outlet that the appliance is connected to. Turn off the main gas supply and contact a qualified electrician to fix this. Does the burner click when the burner knob is in the OFF position? If yes, check for the following: 1. Check to see if the burner cap is properly placed and the igniter is not wet or dirty. 2. Check to see if the regulator supplied with the unit is installed properly. The arrow on the regulator should be pointing to the appliance. Please call a professional installer

Cooktop burner do not ihnite

Hi hgodoy2 - Is the electronic igniter aligned properly? Ensure that tip of spark igniter is aligned with metal point or "nib" located on underside of burner cap after the burner mounting screws have been tightened. (Not all burners having mounting screws). When the burner control knob is set to the "LITE" position do the igniters spark? Can gas be heard or smelled coming from the burners when the control number is turned on? However, if you smell gas, I highly recommend turning the unit and the gas off if you can reach it and contact your gas provider. The range itself does not have a switch or regulator to relight it. Keep in mind that it may be experiencing an issue with the spark module, electrodes, wiring or EOC.

On our 6 burner gas coocktop, the right two burners don't light

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Gas Hob constant ignition clicking

Had the same problem. All five burners were continuously igniting, after my wife had given the stove a clean. Turned off the power, removed the five knobs and corresponding rubber rings, and used a hair dryer on the five holes where the knobs were for about ten minutes in total. Hey presto, when I turned the power back on, the constant igniting had stopped. Thank you all. I love the internet :-)
