I am renting a condo with an old Weber Grill - 2

Yes the best option for just for you is to buy a new burner, tube kit and a new manifold kit because all the things that you said you removed from the burner must have caused alot of rust on the burner and if you keep welding the burner there will still be linkage after awhile so the best thing is just for u replace the burner.

You might have air block. When turning off the grill, leave one burner on and shut the tank valve.
When grill cools, close the remaining valve. When restarting the grill, open the tank valve, then the start burner, then the igniter. When first burner is going, open remaining two valves to preheat the grill.

This has worked on two different grills.

The new style tanks have a safety feature inside them that won't allow the gas to come out if the pressure drops too fast. Thank you Ralph Nader. Remove the tank from the grill. Open up all the controls and close them all back tight. Re install the tank onto the grill and SLOWLY open the tank just a hair. Then retry. I inherited this grill through a home purchase.

Check burner kit inside grill. Spray connections with soapy water and watch for bubbles. Do not leave on for long because of gas build up.

It takes a very long time to cook anything.

check for rust/debris on the nozzles (these are small screws with single hole in them inside of the burner, clean the burner, dissassembly and clean the valves on the grill NOT ON THE BOTTLE!

this should solve the problem, alternatively, if burner was not used for long time, regulator maybe stuck in this position and will need replacement.

Cant get grill to light. newly filled gas tank.

Hello,
You may have turned the gas tank valve on too fast. Close it, disconnect it and reconnect it. Then very slowly turn the tank valve back on and only light one burner at a time. If this doesn't solve the problem, let me know by leaving another comment on this post and I'll dig deeper with you. Douglas
