Dishwasher makes grinding sound during wash

Hello,
This means that some debris is trapped inside the motor. You can complete this repair yourself, it's simple. Remove the lower spray arm followed by the screws on the top of the motor housing.
The impeller will be below the part that lifts off with the screws removed.

Dishes not washing very well

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes.

D/W does NOT drain. Water remains in bottom after

Hi

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn

FILM ON GLASSES, IS THIS HARD WATER, MIGHT BE MY

Film on the glasses may be a sign that the softener is not working correctly. It may sound silly but check the obvious first, is there salt in the softener brine tank? if not fill it up, allow it to sit for at least 8 hours then manually regenerate the unit. Also check the power to the softener. Check to make sure the bypass is not open. If this stuff is ok then have a local reputable water treatment company come out and test the water hardness to make sure the softener is working correctly. If they say it is not working check the brine draw tubing. The most common failure is from a slight leak in the brine draw tubing which keeps the unit from regenerating effectively. During the brine draw phase of regeneration (2nd step) the softener should draw all the water from the brine tank. Repair or replace the tubing as needed.

Dishwasher wont run water or turn off

This sounds like the float switch is stuck or bad. You might be able to wiggle the float or float rod around to free it up. Otherwise you will need to check the float switch itself and replace. This is easy and inexpensive. This link will walk you thru checking and replacing the float switch. It may be a different model but the process will be the same. If you need a diagram or illustration of your specific model enter your model # there. http://appliancehelponline.com/dishfloatwaterinletvideo.html

Leaks at bottom of door, badly

Hello there
Door seal
First make sure that the entire seal is clean and has no visable tears or rips in it if it does replace it.
also
If your dishwasher is new--or if you have just replaced a door seal--the door may be difficult to latch for a week or two. If the tightness persists, though, try adjusting the latch, if it's adjustable. If it's not adjustable, there's probably nothing you can do immediately. But try running the dishwasher on the highest heat cycle to help the seal conform to the door. Otherwise, the seal should compress over time.

This is a bad touchpad in all probability. You would need a test meter to test it to make sure, however.

Glasses are not getting clean and sparkling

HI. Usually this will be the result of heavy calcium build up inside the unit. This will produce the film on the glassware and silverware, as well. To remedy this issue, i would advise to purchase a concentrated dishwasher cleaner. One of the best on the market that i use on my costumers units is call Dishwasher magic. There are others out there, but this one actually works well. Use this every month, if you do not have a water softener device attached to your home plumbing.

I would also advise to make sure that the fine particle filter is clear of all debris. Debris in this area will obstruct the recirculating factors of the unit, thus, producing poor cleaning and horrible drying results.
