You will need to try another Sony remote o make sure it is not the TV causing the problem IF you have no access to another remote. MOST good TV shops can check the remote with an infrared detector. WE do it all the time.

With TV powered off, use remote control to successively hit DISPLAY, 5, sound volume +, and POWER all within a second of each other. This takes you to the Service Adjust Mode and the first thing that appears is the Horizontal Size Adjustment "HSIZ". Press numbers 3 or 6 to make the picture larger or smaller. Other things can be adjusted by using numbers 1 or 4 to go through the list but you could really screw up your TV so don't do anything unless you are sure about it. When you're finished hit MUTING and then ENTER to save the changes.

Hello Cat 1 the problem that your tv set is having is coming from the flyback or high voltage circuit which has something to do with the flyback transformer most of the time it is just bad solder on that circuit but it can also be a faulty component,the click that you hear is coming from the start up relay that wants to turn on the tv set but the protection circuit in the power supply section is not letting it do that so this is the reason y your tv set is not turning on, what i would suggest is to have a service tech come out there and troubleshoot that section of the tv set and find out which component is giving you this problem thank you and hope this helps.

the capacitors in horizontal circuit near the FBT . probably the HOT is damaged again due to the capacitors problem.

You need to look at the vertical IC on the main board. It has seven pins. Clean off solder from pins with solder wick. Clean off with flux remover. wipe clean and resolder the IC. This should repair set. This is a common problem with Sony TVS.

If the picture is ok otherwise then only thing that probably needs to be done is a vertical height adjustment. That is if the lines never changes position from cold to hot.

There are 2 possibilities of green screen in this model.
1- Driver circuit of green gun is defective. 2- Screen itself is defective.
Now I want to know, do you have TV repair experience and basic electronics knowledge to test and check above 2 sections in TV?

yes it is fixable. this problem is due to more supply is going to h/output stage. please check 1 power supply for more voltage then normal. 2 component failure or settind in horz. stage to be checked. 3 print crack in h/output stage you can not control from remote control.
