I have Model # KP-WS500. The screen turn blue.

the problem is in the internal power supply circuit. another think is if it is old like 2 years then another problem can happen in internal circuit (dry sold).

Unfortunately that unit has been a real pain among techs who change out the focus blocks only to later discover it's the tubes themselves.
Get throught he front grill, sounds like you've been there before if you've adjusted the HV on the block already. Take the rubber end of a screw driver and gently tap on each of the three necks of each CRT - - from what you've said I'd suspect you'll see all kinds of flicker when you get to the red crt... Bad guns in the tube requires replacing the crt, but not really worth the cost at this age...

Type in Google Bar understanding sony blinking codes there it will tell you what each code means! you can run set in self-Diagonsis mode. your problem is in the C board and A board

Seems TV has dry/ cold solder joints (loos connections) in convergence out section.
Please check cold/ dry solder joints in convergence out section in TV, specially on pins of convergence out ICs. resolder these solder joints and all would be fine.

If after the Flash Focus™ feature has been performed, the colors on the FLASH FOCUS screen do no line up (converge), press the FLASH FOCUS button on the television to begin the cycle again. If the colors on the FLASH FOCUS screen continues to appear misaligned, service will be required .
NOTE: It is recommended to perform the Flash Focus™ feature about thirty minutes after the television has been turned on and keep the room as dark as possible.

Normally a blue screen means no signal input (nothing playing) and the black is after a while to save the screen itself (screen saver option). I still need more info, when does it do this and is there still sound?????

hello there are 2 big black chips connected to a metal frame called a heatsink you'll have 2 desolder them also test the resistors in front of the chips and the 2 capacitor either end its a big job all the best

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. Remove Front panel look for screen/focus controls adjust them you have R/G/B for each tube ,you have screen drive controls as well as focus Start with red turn green and blue off adjust each one untill you have a black/white picture, If screen drives are to high TV will turn off.Also if STK ICs are bad TV will not come on there is a blue capacitor behind hori output Transistor that also burns out CK it as well.LET me know if any of this has helped you or if you need more information.

Sounds like you got it to close to a magnet. Try unplugging it or use a demagnetizer from Radio shack

Chances are good the Blue CRT is bad. Especially if you see thin lines going diagonal across the screen. Sony has not had CRTs available for these for quite a while. They have been requiring that the CRTs be sent to them so the can mount a new CRT on the Lens/Coupler assy. Here's the rub, it cost approx 300.00 for rebuild for each tube and because of the age on the set all three shoud be done. Other wise you will have a color imbalance not to mention the chances are real good that the other two will also have the same promblem sooner than later. In short, I would not invest the money into it. The only way o really find out is to get a Local servicer out to comfirm what what the cause is. If you call 1-800-222-SONY, they can help direct you to one.

Your TV most likely a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.
