Question about Sony KP-57HW40 57" Rear Projection Television

The TV is off, but the red light on the front is flashing. What does this mean and how do I reset this???

It is normal for it to flash for about 10 minutes after turning it off, while it cools down the bulb. You're not supposed to try turning it on during this time. If it is flashing constantly, it is telling you the bulb needs replacing.

Lamp light blinking yellow means lamp door not installed.
Lamp light solid red and TV shut off is lamp error (did not light.)

Is the red light blinking or steady?
Have you tried to reset the tv?

System Reset
If the TV will not respond to either the remote control or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off, press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may again turn on the TV. The changes you made the last time the TV was on before you used the SYSTEM RESET button may be lost, however, the changes that were previously saved are not lost.

What does red flashing light on front of tv mean?

It may be the lamp light indicating a lamp has failed--model listed here does use a lamp.

Also look at the blinks to see if a specific number then a pause and repeats, if that then that is a error code.

The toshiba 46h83 46in rear projection tv comes

the red flash you are talking about im assuming is the screen going red
that usualy means a red picture tube they break down
one way to tell turn the red screen control counter clockwise and see if you can control the tube gain
and then you can lightly tap on crt neck and i do mean carfuly and see if it flashes it most likely will and you would need to change the crt and reset it up

Red light and 2 green lights on front panel on.

This is an error code it means the TV is in protection mode. Which means it has detected a problem and is preventing power up so not to cause further damage. Error codes are generally 2 numbers 1 seq of flashes a pause and a second sequence of flashes. Most common problems for LCD are Video logic / Main input board or the power supply. For more info and possible solutions post your make and model.

try to reset the printer by opeing the front cover and close it again.

Hello, please check how many times the red light flashes. If it is 3 times this means that the lamp cover is not fastened securely. If the red light flashes 5 times this means that the lamp driver is defect. If you need more help please advice
