Varadan has no menu button on it front panel to select the inputs. You must have its original remote control to select it input.

You just look onto its front panel control buttons for any struk or fault. These are microswitches, soldered diretly onto a printed circut board and comes just behind tthe front control panel. If some of them make contacted permanantly, that is , it does not disconnect, or jammed, this kind of fault will occur. As it is a 20" TV, it is very easy to locate these switches. You have to open your TV for replacing these switches. Just resolder one amoung it and go for a same type and number. Replace all of the at one instance. These switches are not so colstly, and easly avalilable in any electronics spare part shops. Just look its leg confugutration and height. OK.

If someone has ever sprayed glass cleaner or the like on the screen , it's possible that liquid got down into the control button board.
It's fixable but it may be cheaper to buy another new.

I t sound like the De-gauss circuit has failed.
De-gauss demagnetizes the TV tube so you dont get what youre seeing.
It could be something as simple as a solder joint on one of the parts in that circuit. I fixed my Panasonic that way

The SVHS channel comes up if there is an SVideo cable plugged in. If SVHS comes up and there is nothing coming up, the input board is damaged. In which case a new TV will probably be your best option.

Your TV will probably not work on 95 volts. It may even damage your set. To see if your TV is still working properly you need to find a source of 108 volts at the minimum. Why is your voltage so low? Are you using a meter to check it?

Remove the cover on the back of the tv. Look for swollen or leaking capacitors. They kinda look like batteries. If they are bulging or leaking then that is your problem. You will have to de-solder the old ones off. Then solder the new capacitors onto the circuit board. Capacitors will cost about 20 dollars and installing them isn't that hard to do. It will fix your tv 99% of the time. So it is worth a try!

I'm assuming that you have checked that the sound is not muted. To confirm that a reset to factory settings is the next procedure: Menu - Setup - General - Factory settings. If you don't see/hear any modifications then it's a hardware defect, not something with the settings.
This happens when the tv thinks that the headphones are used. Simple test to confirm that: plug in a pair of speakers and see if you get the sound on them. If you get and the situation doesn't changes when you unplug them then this is a mechanical defect: the small switch inside the headphone jack is faulty and keeps signaling that the headphones are plugged in when they are not.
The only way to fix that is to replace the jack, which involves a very delicate soldering procedure , one that only a good repairman can do - you must call one.
