I recommend try to reinstall the Operating System to make it more easier to isolate if its a hardware or software problem and after you reinstall the Operating System and you are getting same error message it means the problem is already with the hardware, if its a problem with the hardware better to call the manufacturer to have the machine service or go to any local computer center and let them service your machine.

Exactly the same thing happened to mine a couple of days ago as well. Reset to Factory defaults and then not able to login with default username and password.
