If you have already cleaned the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

timer contacts sounds like timer may need to be looked at its not breaking connection when it should be.

Usually when an electric dryer overheats it's because of a defective cycling thermostat or a clogged vent system. Clean any lint from the internal and external ductwork, and/or replace the cycling thermostat. Although this isn't a common problem, one of the thermostats that controls the temperature in your dryer may break and cause the dryer to heat poorly. If so, you need to replace it. The thermostat is usually a small, round, black device mounted to an oblong steel plate. The plate is mounted to the internal ductwork with two screws. The vent holes you described that look burnt is the heat intake for the dryer. Almost all dryers look like this and it is normal.

You will need to disassemble the dryer and clean it out properly.

Disconnect from power source by turning off breaker or disconnect plug.

I have spent half an hour researching the question as I noticed it wasn't answered since I read it last night.. K250 and K251 on the schematic. Is your post the wrong diameter? It looks a standard swap over and none of the parts suppliers mention any modification. Two beeps is typical door not closed. Make sure the light goes out when you close the door. Otherwise make sure both Clean Filter and Flow Sense lamps are off. You can run the installation test. Question edited for clarity and change 'want' to 'won't', a contraction of 'will not'. The check filter indicator is a reminder to clean the lint filter before each use to ensure effective drying every time.
