This vacuum cleaner has no height adjustment. You can run it across any type of carpet without making adjustment. You should turn off brush roller when using on hard floors.

If the belt is not broken, most likely the brush roller needs replacing. If the brush roller turns freely then it is likely the pulley on the motor that drives the belt.

Are you sure you have the switch in position 2? The brush will not turn if the switch is in position 1 or if the handle is upright.

Check the fuse or the or the wire, could be broken

This sounds like an overheat issue. I suspect that something has restricted the air flow. Air flow is required for function and to cool the motor. if the air flow is restricted a thermal limiter opens the circuit, rather than have a fire.

Change the bag. It has an automatic bag full shut off switch.

Just undo the screws on the front part of the switch assembly, carefully check all the leads to the switch. Mine slide off all the time as the switch is poorly designed and subject to damage when the darn thing tips over (easily!!!) new switches are about 7.50 USD.
