Hi, There is no power switch on this machine & the supply cable is hard wired into the machine. Have you tried a new fuse in the plug? If so, & it still doesn't work then you may have a power supply problem. Hope this helps.

Check if the thermal ribbon (ink) is finished . Open up the front panel and you will see the black film roll .

First, plug a phone line to the 'Tel' port on the left side. Manual receive fax, pick up handset when fax is ringing and press 'Start' when you hear fax tone. Auto receive - set the receive mode to 'Fax Only'

No such feature. Just replace it.

i got a new ribbon and it keeps saying ribbon empty reset or replace. i unplugged it for 30 seconds didnt do any good how can i fix this? it is a brand new ribbon

Check to make sure the power supply cord is good and snug, if that does not change anything you have a power supply problem in the fax machine, at this stage it must be dismantled and checked for bad parts.

This indicates an error provided the connections are correct. In the first place remove the mains plug from fax machine , push all the preset buttons and the dialer's to drain off all the residual voltage on the pads to the CPU.
Connect after a space of time .Make sure that the machine is clean , the paper is loaded and the telephone connection is good.
if there is no action on the preset buttons then it is possible that the CPU is faulty, the sub-processor is faulty in the customer control or there is a break of connection on the flexible strip to the top door.

If this is happening to only one number you're trying to fax to, then the problem is most likely on their end, not yours. If it is happening with all the numbers you fax to, then I would suggest checking the telephone line hooked to the fax. Look for loose connections, or perhaps a bad cord from the phone outlet. The connection could be good enough to get a dial tone, but not secure enough for the fax to operate. If none of that holds true, I would suggest taking it to the shop and let a technician look it over.
