2004 Ford Expedition "rpm" Questions

My 5.4L 2008 Expedition 4x2 idles around 1200 rpm on the tachometer. What is normal for the idle rpm? That's not normal. RPM for a typical V8 should be around 600-700rpm. 1200 is way high.
