ignition switch on and push in the button on the shift lever it will move freely but won't change to another. You have a broken shifter cable. The inner cable is broken though the casing may look fine
to low range, and shifts ok when I shift the lever to second and third. Changed fluid and filter, didn't help. Is this car a six or eight cylinder? If the car has a kickdown cable check the adjustment
