All RV's are built using flexible sealant on there seams, and under window, and door flanges. Butyl Sealant Tape is the product of choice. Cheap, and easy to use, it will stand up to vibration, and metal expansion that all RV's experiance. Never use anything that is silicone on your rig. Silicone is very hard to clean off of RV's, and won't form a proper seal. Just as soon as the seam heats up, and expands, and shrinks again.. the seal will be broken, and moisture will again get under your seam. In short... Silicone was not made to use on RV's!
If you must use something that you can just squeeze out of a caulking gun then get some Pro-Flex RV. Even though you're not getting it under the joint like the factory did... it will do a pretty good job sealing off your joints.
