Hi, im new at this so pls go easy on me. my 1996 kawasaki ninja zx750 was running fine until i took the gas tank off to look at the condition of the carbs etc. i even fired it up with the gas tank still connected but off to the side and it sounded and worked fine. there were 3 vacuum type hoses coming from 3 of the 4 carbs, 1 was plumbed to the air intake and the other 2 were capped. i removed the plug and plumbed them into the air intake and fired it up and it worked fine. when i put it back together i tried starting it and nothing happened. it was like there was no battery. no clicks, no dash lights, nothing. i connected the battery to the maintainer and charged it and still nothing. i almost 100% sure i didnt cut any wires. it is like the key or ignition is not recognizing that there is a key in it. its just dead :( please help. thanks in advance and any advice is much appreciated.

remove tank and seat ! disconnect throttle cables from handle bars etc then you can get to the airbox and slide it back then remove carbs once everything is undone and out of way !
It sounds like that hose which runs fron the cap area (inside) the fuel tank to the back bottom is broke, if you take it to a Kawasaki dealer and have your dealer call Kawasaki there is a good chance it will get covered as long as the tank is damaged. Those hoses (metal) that run inside the fuel tak sometimes crack, there is really not way of fixing them unless you cut the tank open and then you would need to reweld it.
