pull the spark plugs an dry them out then check for firing

when you install a new fuse or only when you turn the key on ??? more info would help here. but if its just when you install the fuse suspect your problem is before the switch. if when you turn the key on, I'd start looking at getting a wiring diagram

You should have power on the Blue/Yellow wire coming from the fuse box to your left handle bar dimmer switch. Unplug the switch and give directly power, from the battery's positive terminal to the Blue/Yellow wire located on the harness plug where the dimmer's switch plugs on to. If your lights come up then you probably need a new fuse box.

Is your battery full charged?

If the battery is good, check the connections, and fuses
How does it start?with no power

There should be a bent washer over the nut to stop it from turning. Have a good look.
Flatten the bent washer with a flat cold chisel, gently, as you need it again! Put the bike in top gear to hold the sprocket and use a spanner 27mm to undo the nut. It is a clockwise thread.
When you put a sprocket back on, don't forget the bent washer and a drop of Loctite Threadlock will help to hold it on.

my last bike was a 1998 zx7r that i had from new. it was always a pig to start if i didnt get it right.
i had to start it with full choke and NEVER touch the throttle or it will never go.
keep hitting the starter if you have to but dont touch that throttle.

FIRST SECURE THE BIKE ON A SUITABLE REAR STAND, WITH THE FRONT WHEEL STIL ON THE GROUND, UNDO THE 2X 6mm ALUN KEY PINCH BOLTS ON THE R,HAND FORK, NOW INSERT A SUITIBLE KEY INTO THE SPINDLE AND CRACK OF THE SPINDLE IN AN ANTICLOCKWISE ROTATION, WITH THE SPINDLE NOW LOOSE, SUPPORT THE FRONT OF THE MACHINE AND RAISE THE FRONT WHEEL OF THE GROUND, DONOT UNDO THE ALUN KEY BOLTS ON THE L,HAND FORK AND CONTINUE TO UNDO THE SPINDLE FROM THE R,HAND SIDE, REMOVE 2X 12mm BOLTS FROM EACH OF BRAKE CALIPERS, TWIST THE CALIPERS SLIGHTLY TO PUSH HOME THE PISTONS TO EASE REMOVAL, YOU SHOULD NOW BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE CALIPERS FROM THE WHEEL BY PULLING THEM BACKWARDS AWAY FROM THE DISC, REMOVE SPEEDOMITER CABLE, THIS WILL EASE REPLACMENT, AS THE SPEEDO DRIVE CAN BE A BIT TRICKY TO LOCATE ON TIMES, THE SPEEDOMITER DRIVELOCATES IN THE LH FORK WITH A SMALL LUG, THE REASON YOU DONT UNDO THE LH SIDE IS TIGHTENING THE SPINDLE FROM THE LEFT PUTS FRICTION ON THE SPEEDO DRIVE AND BREAKS OF THE LUG, WHEN REPLACING THE WHEEL LOCATE THE SPEEDOMITER DRIVE IN THE WHEEL FIRST AND ENSURE CORRECT LOCATION, WHEN BACK ON THE BIKE TIGHTEN THE WHEEL FROM THE RH SIDE IF THE DRIVE IS LOCATED CORECTLY, WITH NO CALIPERS FITTED THE WHEEL WILL SPIN FREE, IF IT IS NOT CORRECT WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE WHEEL IT WILL HAVE A SLIGHT BIND AND SHOULD BE REMOVED AND REFITTED CORECTLY

pos fuel abstruction or loose valve adjustment

try pulling on the wiring to the ignition switch and kill switch with the handle bars straight, if the engine cuts out then you have a broken or damaged wire in the loom, cut the wiring loom open and pull on the wires one at a time untill it cuts out, the wire you pull when it cuts out will be the one you need to repair/ replace

Sounds like the insulation on some of the ignition wiring is worn through, and on full lock is making electrical contact with ground.

Yes they should just pull off, make sure you pull on the cap and not the cable

Almost always, your described problem indicates that the fuel inlet valve(s) are not closing properly either because of float height or because of a foreign matter lodged between the valve and the port.

if its the oil filter your looking for, its behined the exhaust downpipes,remove the lower plastic and you should see it..

This is only one of several possible items. Check with your mechanic and or the dealer and see what they think about the detent spring. This is the spring that assists your gear lever in moving between gears. May not be the issue, however you might want to check into it. Hope this helps.

hi buddy to check the magneto just find the wires from the magneto and test them out with a volt metre if you have nothing there must be the stator plate gone get back to me buddy

theres a one way bearing on the back of the flywheel that comes off with 3 phill. screws.you have to whack them with a firm hit of a steel tip (the interchangable flat,phill.,tips for a driver) to loosen for replacing this one way bearing that will somtimes go out,BE SURE IF YOU JUST HAPPEN TO CHANGE THE BATTERY THAT THE POS-NEG POLES ARENT OPPOSITE OF THE ONE YOU HAD,THIS WILL STILL SPIN THE STARTER BUT BACKWARDS ON A KAW. AND WONT LOCK THE ONE WAY STARTER BEARING AT THE FLYWHEEL,IVE DONE IT BEFORE AND SEEN THIS MANY TIMES,NO HARM YET THOUGH,hope thats it brother,wallace
