Gas Stove top seems to work fine and when we try and turn on the oven or broiler you can hear the click to try and ignite it but no heat comes out - the broiler doesn't ignite. any thoughts?

i just moved and our stove in the new place doesnt bake things right. it seems that the top coil doesnt come on. its very difficult to bake anything. seems to come up to temp for pre heating, but only the bottom coil comes on. If you put it on broil, then the top coil gets hot. that works fine. tired of burning pizzas and biscuits. can anyone help with a cheap fix? dont have alot of cash.
You need a new t-stat control. Your element is fine. Give us a call with your complete model number and we'll get the right part out to you asap to get you ready for the winter.
there is a eletric thermocouple at the bottem back of oven unplug the stove remove broiler draw to get access to this part remove small screw disconnect wire replace with new one to order part you will make modle s/n off data plate good iuck later
Some gas ranges may take 10 or so minutes to light.
Other than that you may have a defective glow bar ignitor.
If it glows and does not light the reistance in the ignitior has failed.
Your gas valve has a thermocouple circuit that will not let gas flow until the ignitor is hot enough. A failed ignitor can still glow but not be hot enough to open the gas valve. Replace your ignitor.
Your problem is with the oven igniter. You have the stove MODEL# so you should have no problem finding the part you need.Shop around to get your best price. Good Luck Friend.

gas ovens and many broilers use a "glow-bar" style of igniter that
glows red-hot to ignite the gas. If the igniter doesn't reach the
proper temperature, the gas valve won't open. You may need to replace
the igniter.
