Whats the corect tyre pressures for a 1996 T/bird (Avon tyres)

  • Anonymous Feb 11, 2013

To avoid blowouts on your motorcycles, check on the condition of your tires and pressure levels before riding. Tire manufacturers such as Pirelli motorcycle tires provide guidelines that help in giving you the correct amount of air pressure applicable to your bike. Tire pressure also depends on the load limit you are carrying. For example a sports rider will use less tire pressure compared to a rider with heavy cargo. Each motorcycle tires depends on the terrain you will use. The variety of terrain types tires provided by Pirelli motorcycle tires are a good example for riders. Not following the correct specifications can lead to tire failure.

Thank you for using Fixya, Raymond.
I would like to inform you that you can find the correct front and rear tire pressure of your Triump on your owner's manual. However, you can also check the average tire pressure on the sidewall of the rubber tire.

I had my tyres changes (they wear frequently and nobody can tell me whats wrong)...as I drove off my ASR light came on and the car lost power, is this dangerous? Can it wait to be fixed?

Tyre wear is related to the load you put on your tyres and the pressures you run them at, many tyre suppliers have charts to show you visually why your tyres are wearing and what you should do. Low pressure and high pressure both stress the tyres more than the correct pressure. There is a guide to what pressure your tyres should run at for light and heavy loading, adjusting the pressure for a trip can also save fuel and improve handling. VW recommend 28 Psi all round for your 2003 Passat on standard Tyres.
The ASR light indicates that your stability control system is working, if it is just cutting in as you hit adverse conditions then it is working how it should, if it is staying on go talk to your VW Mechanic , there may be a fault, try turning the ASR button on and off on the dash.

I have an "04" Chevy Cavalier recently started violently shaking if I drive over 40mph and I can't hardly keep it in my own lane there's also a kinda bird chirping noise any ideas what this might be?

I suggest a full front suspension and steering ball joint check including wheel bearings and cv joints
if all ok then have a wheel alignment as it sounds like a castor wobble problem

Hi, I need a front and rear tyre for my Ducati 400ss 1989 size 130/60/16 and 160/60/16. can you help; Regards Barry.

Hi Barry
There are now some AVON brand harley davidson sports tyres which fit this bike now, with only some small modifications. I just had it done to my 400 SS junior and I must say it make the bike look mean. They are more round with a slightly higher wall profile.
The ones that fit are
Front - AVON 120/80/ZR16
Rear - AVON 150/80/ZR16

regards
Lyndon

Hi just bought a yamaha xtz 660 n reg and not sure on the tyre pressures hope you can help.

Have a search for an owners forum, they should be able to help. The other way is to look at what make of tyres you have, then go and look on the manufactures website. Avon tyres, for example, will let you select the bike you own, then give details of their recommended tyres and their recommended pressures.
hope this helps.

Tyres

Hi .... Tyres are one of those things that every rider you speak to will have a different favorite. Depending on your riding style try Avon Super Venoms, Avon RoadRider or a dual compound rear like a Bridgestone BT45 ............... Let us know how you get on.
