2006 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Logo
Posted on Nov 27, 2010

I just picked up a 2006 Bajaj Chetak from a guy who runs a local tobacco shop around the corner. It was ridden a total of about 1630 miles by a little old Indian man who is the original owner. It runs and rides fine but after I got it home, I noticed I had no gas gauge. I thought it was almost out of gas. Later on, I checked the headlights, blinkers, horn and I have no electrical on the scooter at all. What should I do? Could it be a fuse, battery or is it something else? Thanks, Wm

You have a dead battery. Add distilled water to the battery and then charge it up. Riding the scooter regularly will keep the battery charged, but it will not re-charge a battery once it has gone so dead that the starter will not turn over. Worst possible case, buy a new battery for about $26.

Sputters and stops running.

Since it still starts and runs, i would try to save money and buy a bottle of Techroline (Chevron) gas additive and put in1/2 bottle w/full tank of gas. By the 2nd tankful and 2nd half of bottle you should notice a big improvement, but if no change take it to a competent scooter mech....Good Luck to you friend.....tim
