99 jeep cherokee sport suddenly dies with no warning.

Most of the time it will restart after a min or 2, but has left me stranded for several hrs. runs fine, then without warning stops as if the key was turned off.

unplugging the computer wasn't enough. Ended up replacing it. Ouch! But it's back to running great. Thanx for the tip. It was right on the nose.

My 99 wrangler does the same. Only thing sometimes when it starts back up the key light comes on and stays on when it running. I was told its the transponder in the key or receiver. I going to take it in to get new keys programed. Was this mentioned prior to checking the computer?
I have already changed the key cylinder (mine was bad ). I also changed the ignition switch and it still has the problem

I HAVE SAME ISSUE WITH A 96 DODGE DAKOTA, I CHANGE ALL THE SENSOR S AND STILL DOES IT,
THE TWO THINGS THAT WILL CAUSE THE ISSUE " AFTER A LOT OF RESEARCH "
IS A DYING FUEL PUMP OR YOUR COMPUTER, THERE IS A BAD PROCCESOR " CHIP ".
MINE IS THE COMPUTER, SO WHEN IT'S STARTS ACTING OUT I WILL DISCONNECT THE COMPUTER FOR 15 SEC. AND THEN CONECT IT BACK AND PROBLEM WILL BE GONE FOR A MONTH OR TWO.

I had a similar problem with my 99 Cherokee, it would start and then would not idol without holding down the gas, after it warmed up it would run fine for the most part it would sometimes die at a stop light or sign. I was told to replace the blower motor for the carburetor, works great and gas mileage improved.

Have you scanned the system for fualt codes? An O2 sensor will never cause the engine to stall out like this, NEVER.

1997 Jeep Cherokee suddenly runs hot and dies.

The first thing you need to do is find out what that check engine light is, you local auto parts store will probably pull the codes for you for free. Other than that, maybe the head gasket is blown?

99 jeep cherokee sport 4.0l 6cyl voltage will go to 19v

The problem sounds intermittent, if you put volt meter on the battery while it is at that 19volt mark/reading(on the gauge cluster) you will be able to see if it is true. If your alternator is really charging over 16volts the lights should be getting brighter then usual and/or they are burning out. Find out ASAP, if the alternator has a defective voltage regulator, it needs to be replaced. Prolong use will damage components.

99 cherokee sport starts hard after sitting over night or 3 to 4 hrs. starts right away if key is turned on and off2to3 times represurizing the system

Could be related to the fuel system. What have you replaced or checked so far. I would look at the battery and the charging system. Also look for a fuel leak, pump pressure, and the vehicles maintenance/repair history.

Battery trouble??????

SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED TO START THE CAR AND GIVE IT SOME GAS. IDLE IT UP TO ABOUT 2500 RPMS FOR A MIN OR TWO AND THEN TRY RESTARTING.

1999 jeep cherokee laredo camshaft sensor location on engine

Your problem could very well be a crank sesor. The location of this is on the bell housing drivers side on top. I don't remember there being a camshaft sensor, unless your refering to the sensor in the distributor.
