I guess you mean a 750, The compliance plate should be on the steering head, right at the front between the upper and lower bearings. That is where it is on my 1984 900r and they are almost the same bike.

How do I tell what model year my 85 Evenrude starflite motor is if I cant find a compliance plate ???

go google and type in-- evinrude outboard 1985 ( you have to put the hp in ) and there are sites that will help the model of the engine
take what ever information you have on the engine ( year , make , hp sales name etc) to an evinrude service center and have it identified that way

I have an old holden rodeo KB series. The complience plates say it's a KBD42 made in 1985, yet I am told KBD42 stopped being manufactured in 1983 and that mine might be a KB43 or KBD43 as mine has a f

Have a careful look at the compliance plate. It's possible the 3 looks like a 5. The 5 speed transmission may have just been put on. Sure enough GM stopped manifacturing KBD42s in 1983.

The bike was manufactured in October '09 to be sold as the 2010 model year. Auto dealers do the same. You can buy a 2011 Ford Mustang in September of this year, 2010.

Rx 100 reverse start

Make a couple of calls to different Kawasaki dealers in your area. Ask what direction the flywheel is supposed to turn when the engine is running. Chances are the mechanic is seeing a directional arrow on the odd-lot flywheel when the correct flywheel has the arrow going the other direction. Put the bike on the centerstand. Start the engine and put it in first gear. The sprocket should be turning counter clockwise.
