06 gasgas mc65 stator ohms

06 gasgas mc65 doesnt have very good spark steming from possible bad stator, i need to know how many ohms it should put out on each copper coil and total output.I also would like to find a free web site that would have a detailed repair manual.

Stator is volts AC ,isolate the wires from system check AC volts from one stator wire to the other until all combinations have been noted.you are looking for 40 or 50 volts in the pairs of stator output wires.weak spark could be volt regulator.or weak or dirty connections in the wires or at battery terminals. also running lots or ad-ons can **** the life out of performance.Am thinking of changing my name to check ALL your fuses, because they are not all in the box.

What causes cr 85 to lose spark after 5-10 minutes

I would first suspect the stator. you need to have an ohm meter and ohm out the stator when it is warm...its possible for the cdi to be bad but not typically when it heats.

Why does yamaha waverunner fx cruiser ho not run in lake but will run hooked to water hose

Sounds like you have a bad stator. It may be producing enough spark to start the motor, but under a load (as in the water) it simply can not supply the amount of spark needed. Sometimes when a stator is tested on a ohms meter it may test good, but still be defective do to the load it will come in contact with when put in the water.

How do you check the slator to see if it is any good useing a multymeter

You must first disconnect ALL the stator wires to prevent a bad reading. You MUST have a good meter, cheap ones will not do. Put the meter on Ohms and put the probes together, note reading (this is the resisitance of the meter wires and this reading will need deductiong from the test readings). You will need a service manual to know what that actual values should be at what ambient temp. They are normally very low less than 1 ohm so cheap meters won't read. Check each wire with one lead and the other to the stator metal ground. You should have ZERO any value here is a short. Then check between each pair and read the value (many stators have multi windings T1,T2, Q1 Q2, B1 B2 etc, so you need to make sure you measure across each pair.. Generally values are 1 ohm or less

No spark on my dt50 1986

Check the on/off switch for corrosion.Cleanit and use dielectric grease on it. If this still doesnt help, then check the stator and make sure the keyway key hasnt sheared off. If it hasnt, then do a stator test on the stator to make sure the stator is good.
Good Luck!

I have a 2003 Dyna Wide Glide. My battery will not charge. The voltage regulator is new, and when I load tested the battery, it was only putting out 12.51 volts at all RPM levels. I then tested the stator...

If you had your meter in AC VOLTS, and you only got three volts out of the stator, it's bad. Check for a shorted stator but putting your meter in OHMS R X 1. Put one probe on the engine case and then the other to one of the contacts and then to the other. You should read infinite ohms. 12.5 volts is the normal reading of a fully charged battery. I never do the shorted stator test. Why? If the stator is not putting out at least 30 volts at a high idle, it makes no difference if the stator is shorted or what, it needs replacing. That's the way I look at it.

Good Luck

My 79 honda500 want fire i know the coils are and plugs and plug wires are good what else could it be and it hasnt jumptime either

have you checked the spark plug caps, if they read above or below 5000 ohms replace them. If they are good then the news is bad. You could have a bad cdi box but more likely with this model , you have bad pulsar pick ups, which unfortunately are part of the alternator assembly. These can be checked without removing the engine by taking readings from the plug going to the cdi box. ac generator disconnect the stator wires at their connections. X10omega

magneto stator can also be a solution check for AC power from stator while cranking the motor use sta-bil winterizing fluid to insure piston where during cranking process spray directly into spak plug holes with spark plus out 4 sprays into each cylinder should be enough crank motor without plugs for reduced compression and more cranking amps

Fresh rebuild now no spark

If it ran before, I would double check your electrical connections. Its more likely you didn't get a connector pushed all the way together or left off a ground wire. The ignition coil specs are generally 1 ohm or less on the primary (small Wire) side, and 5K-10K ohms on the secondary (spark plug) side. Each side should be tested to ground. Pick-up coils are typically open or really large ohm reading in Megaohms normally and around 100 ohms when the magnet on the flywheel passes by. there is no way to test the CDI box other than putting it on a know running bike or getting a known good CDI and putting it on your bike. Double check that the spark plug cap is secured to the high tension lead as well. Testing the stator is a little more complicated, but a quick way is to close the gap on an old spark plug to about 0.010" and see if there is a week spark. If so, the stator will need to be replaced.

Sometimes fires sometimes doesnt

The side stand kill switch can go bad and do this. Check the switch with an Ohm meter. Also, check the wiring harness connections. Fix any loose connections. Check the handlebar kill switch. It can go bad also.
