Probably the running light rather than directionals.(power) Are they the same number of cylinders? You could test it and do just fine, its possible to short something,but not too likely if you are carefull.use the accessory fuse to power the tach and pick a coil and give it a whirl.

I would contact Cobra directly and talk to there customer service rep.FI may sense mod and make correct adjustment but then again????

may want to check your clutch and neuteral saftey switches. the starter relay / solenoid may be you problem as well

It sounds like either the gears or the speedometer cable itself is worn out. I would try replacing the speedometer cable.
