Seized clutch

Depends if you have a "wet clutch", if so it may be that the friction plates may be just stuck togeather usually if the bike has been sitting for a while. First try warming up the bike, turn off, put into second gear, then rock the bike back and forth and see if the clutch releases. If not you can try parking on a hill, put in 1st gear, hold clutch in,press starter while sitting in riding position ("jump start"), be carefull

What's your problem?1995 yamaha virago 1100 that sometimes you you put into gear and immediately dies

The Clutch on some bikes will disengage the starter motor. Yamaha will not allow you to engage gear when the side stand is down. Hope this gives you some idea

Where should I set the gear and the friction when casually riding my Serene Comfort on level ground?

The above doesn't answer the question as I have recently purchased the same bike. I was wondering the same thing. Should I be at + or - (which gear wheel should it be on 1, 2 or 3?)

When i pull my clutch and step into first gear the bike jumps and goes back into neutral

put the bike in gear, with the engine off. Pull in the clutch and attempt to roll the bike around. Does it roll freely? If not, you may have to replace the friction disks in your clutch

This is a schematic for the VZ800. Very similar to the VL.

I have a diamondback serene women's bike, can't shift into 3rd gear. grip turns extremely hard and then if I get the shifter to 3rd, the gears on the bike just click. have to ride it really hard and...

Many possibilities, including derailleur outer limit not correctly adjusted, derailleur not mounted correctly, tight bend or friction in cable. Talk to the store manager/owner about correcting your complaints or find another shop or a bike co-op. If the bike is a major brand from a bike shop (Trek, Giant, Cannondale, etc.) try going to their website, look for Customer Service/Support and enter a complaint.

What is the weight of the final gear oil for the suzuki boulevard M50? Is it 20W-50 gear oil?

NOOOO! Do not put 20w-40w in the final drive!!!

This bike has hypoid gears (beveled gears that create a sliding action across the teeth and therefore energy loss and a lot of heat). A 20W-40W oil will destroy those gears, it can't handle the high friction in the final drive.

You need an SAE90 Hypoid gear oil with a GL-5 rating as defined by the API (American Petrolium Institute) classification system. If you operate your bike in temperatures less than 32 degrees F (0 degrees C), you will need to use SAE80 GL-5 Hypoid gear oil.
