The ohms readings are 0.41 - 0.51 ohms between any two of
the yellow wires

All yellow wires should connect or have continuity with each other.

No yellow leads should connect to ground at all.

If it has brushes those should be checked out.
They have a wear line on them.

My 82 750 Nighthawk and the headlight does not work before and after it starts

First, test for voltage at the plug that attaches to the headlight, if you have voltage at each terminal when set to it's respective hi or low position it could only be your headlight. If you don't have voltage then you need to work back from the wire to the switch and etc etc

93 Honda Nighthawk 750, when I pull in the clutch

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Check / replace the diode that connects the clutch switch and neutral switch. The diode normally would have green/red and light green/red wires.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

How do you test sators on 82 nighthawk 750

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Stator tests:
  • each yellow wire must have continuity to the other yellow wires;
  • the 3 readings must be close or identical to each other;
  • none of the yellow wires should have continuty to ground;
  • there should be continuity on the black & white wires;
  • all of the above readings should never be a 0 ohms as this would indicate a short.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
