Hi, I've got a gs850 trike now completed, and I need to know how much engine oil I need. Is it the amount for a standard two wheel GS or is it half way up the glass without being on a centre stand? Many thanks

Hi, how much oil goes in the forks of 1982 suzuki gs 750 t

The amount of oil that goes in the forks of a 1982 Suzuki GS 750T will depend on the type of forks that are installed on the motorcycle. It is important to use the correct amount of oil to ensure that the forks are functioning properly.
If your Suzuki GS 750T has standard telescopic forks, you will need to add 10.8 ounces (320 mL) of fork oil to each fork. If your motorcycle has air-assisted forks, you will need to consult the owner's manual to determine the correct amount of oil to use.
To add oil to the forks, you will need to remove the fork caps and use a fork oil level gauge or a piece of wire to measure the amount of oil in the forks. If the oil level is too low, add oil until the forks are filled to the correct level. If the oil level is too high, remove excess oil until the forks are at the correct level.
I hope this information helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Trike conversion issues

hi
the abs stays on
because it is a trike not a bike
ie: the abs is there to detect 2 wheels
it now has 3 wheels and two brakes that are not standard
the preload adjuster
i do not know what you mean by this
as we do not get this sort of gadget in the uk and the translation may be different
is it on the braking side or the acceleration side

My girlfreind has a 1997 1200 sportster that has been converted to a trike and has a 6 speed transmission. As a part of the conversion package is a devise under the seat that when one of the 2 buttons is...

The speedometer reading change when pushing the button means that this button was probably installed to recalibrate the speedometer. The size of the rear wheel was probably reduced, so the speedometer needs to be calibrated for the smaller wheels. As long as the speedometer reads right, I wouldn't worry about it. As for the oil level, it shouldn't be changed. There's marks on the dipstick indicating how much oil is needed.

I have Suzuki gs 750 e, model 1979. The engine is an air-cooled, 4-cylinder,4-cycle model equipped withdual overhead camshafts. I am looking for new camshafts for the engine. Do gs 1000 and 1100...

The simple answer is no. It is possible to put a complete 1000 engine into the 750. but this will involve making brackets etc.
Proberbly the easiest way to more power is to fit the barrells and top end from the GS850. This will fit straight on. Ideally, you will need the 850's carb, but the 750s could be jetted to suit. The exhaust is the same fittings, so you could retain the gs750 exhaust as well. They also share the same airbox.

| have a Trike with a gs850 g suzuki engine. It needs rewiring so where do i start. Its not so much the charging system but the wiring to the accessories has been mucked around with. What wire do i use can...

The simple answer is yes it can be done - and it need not be a nightmare. You need to teach yourself a little more about how the GS engine runs - stator- r/r - ignightor - timing - coils - plugs. It may well be that a loom from the same engine would be helpfull, but it will require some mods to avoid some of the GS wiring pitfalls, which is why we GS owners modify them to give maximum power to the coils for full spark. Burning oil.

bike should be upright when checking the amount... use an old standard type oil (10w40 motorcycle oil) never automotive oil, you can in an emergency to try and make it home but thats the only time. i think most oil fill caps are located on the right side of the engine and every bike i"ve ever owned it was plastic and black, some have dipstick like yours probably does, or like the newer models that have a little sight glass. Most all bikes take approx 3 qts oil 3.2 qts if changing with filter..after a full drain and adding i put in 2 bottles without question, then wait about 30 seconds let it settle in everywhere, then i pour in another 1/2 right away...then i take a measurement,..you only want to fill it to 3/4 way up the stick or sight glass this way you get into the practice of never over filling. Once it gets to 3/4 mark, start the engine, let it idle for a minute, then check oil level again. Thats it ...hope this was veryhelpful!

Front brake calipers clamping down on rotor

Sounds like they need a damn good clean.
Corrosion eats away at the calipers, so strip them down & clean well. Be sure to remove the rubber boots as corrosion behind them grips on the shaft causing the caliper to not float & the brakes lock-on
If your wheel wont turn at all then hit the caliper bodies with a rubber mallet - dont hit the bleed nipple!!
Good Luck
