How do I fix a message "immobilizer try start again"?
My car has been running just fine. Went out to start it and my instrument lights come on like it wants to start but it will not turn over. I then get the message that says "immobilizer try start again".

By the sounds of it your key has come out of sync with the car , need to get the car plugged in to diagnostics to see what the problem is, and go from there

If the white light on the lower right side of the instrument panel that normally comes on when you turn the key to start the engine is not illuminating, there may be an issue with the starting system in your 1999 Kia Sportage. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the battery: Make sure the battery is fully charged and its connections are clean and tight. If the battery is low or has a weak connection, it may not provide enough power to start the engine.
Check the starter: If the battery is good, check the starter. Listen for a clicking sound when you turn the key to start the engine. If you hear a clicking sound, the starter may be faulty and need to be replaced.
Check the ignition switch: If the battery and starter are good, the issue may be with the ignition switch. The ignition switch sends a signal to the starter to start the engine. If the switch is faulty, it may not send the signal, and the engine won't start.
Check the fuel system: If the engine turns over but still won't start, check the fuel system. Make sure there is fuel in the tank and check the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel injectors for any issues.
Check the spark plugs: If the fuel system is good, check the spark plugs. Remove one spark plug and check its condition. If the spark plug is worn or damaged, it may need to be replaced.
If you're unable to diagnose and fix the issue on your own, it may be best to take your Kia Sportage to a qualified mechanic or dealership for a proper diagnosis and repair.
Any light's lit on the instrument cluster ? Wrench symbol , check engine ? Any messages - DIC - driver info. center ? 2007 Chevy what 2500 hd ,silverado etc... What size engine 6.6 L .Probably a problem with electronic throttle control . Your best bet ,dealer
immobilizer not recognizing key. vehicle will start and cut out immediately. try unplugging instrument cluster and recconecting as they sometimes develope a bad connection due to connector pins being very fine. check connection between ignition barrel and dash cluster. immobilizer built into cluster. if engine control unit has been changed immobilizer won't recognise it, must be adapted using diagnostic reader. this is done by entering instruments [code 17] select adaption [code 10] and channel 00 [erase learned values] and confirm. keys may need to be adapted to immobilizer [only at dealer as key code is needed.
