Give it a shot of starting fluid. If it runs initially, then most likely the jets on the carbureator are clogged. You should remove the carb and clean/rebuild it.

Start up procedure for model 10653 homelite super 2

Fully close the choke, shut off switch is toggled to "run". Pull start without using the throttle until the engine fires. Set the choke to the second position, pull start again until the engine fires and idles. Allow some time for the engine to warm up while giving light throttle and when the engine responds smoothly, set choke to fully open.

Why does the mower have to be full throttle to start it, to make it move at all, and to stay running at all?

this could be a few things as to cause :

1- throttle cables stretch as they get older , if marking on throttle says "run" it might really be choke on carb - looking down carb body(air clean off) with engine off move throttle to choke the choke butterfly should shut off (choke does have small hole in it) the butterfly should not be just barely moving or half way it needs to be closed all the way
2- modern fuels leave deposits inside of carbs if machine is left to set for long times (weeks) these deposits don't just get washed away when the engine is started again either , they must be chemically or mechanically flushed away by either a carb cleaner (chemical) or taking carb apart and cleaning it totally out (inside and out) -these deposits cause poor carb performance and even non working engines
a method to keep from having to do this often , is to install a fuel shut off valve in the fuel tank ( might already have one there you just gotta look for it) and when your done with machine shut off the gas valve and allow it to run out of gas dry !

How do I start a weedeater fb25?

Press primer bulb 6 times
Move throttle lever to start position
Move choke lever to full choke position
Pull starter rope sharply until engine attempts to start, but no more than 5 pulls.
Move choke lever to half choke position. Pull starter rope sharply engine runs. If engine hasn't started after 5 pulls, repeat all steps above.
After warming up for 10 seconds, move choke lever to run position.

I have cleaned the gas tank, fuel lines and rebuilt the carb. It now runs but just at idle almost in the choke position. I have played with the throttle and it wants to die when I move it to normal ru

if it runs only in choke it sounds like its lean (choke reduces airflow and gets back to a mixture it will run on.....just). It could just be a small bit of crud in the carby jet. You cleaned the fuel system.....did you install or replace a fuel filter? sometimes cleaning the tank and lines stirs up stuff that needs to be filtered.....even though you may had cleaned and rinsed out a lot.

Yamaha outboard engine. Model f20leha manufactured 5-2011, has about 30 hours on it. Sinse new engine is hard to start, after finally getting engine started, hard to keep it running untill engine gets...

have you left the choke open ? this mixes more fuel to the engine upon starting but will stall it if left open too long . check your fuel filter too it may be full of debris.

How to start the generator

Hi Joe, I had asked for a little clarification and have not received any information. I will answer this question based on the generator is in good working order and it is a recoil start. Open the petcock, (this is the fuel valve) and give it about a minute to fill the fuel bowl on the carburetor. If your generator has an engine an on/off kill switch, set to on. If the generator has an auto idle switch set it to off. If the engine has a throttle lever located under the carburetor, push it all the way down (full throttle). Pull the choke knob out completely, there is a detent on the choke for half choke, pull it past this for full choke. pull the recoil starter rapidly. As soon as the engine starts running push the choke knob to half choke, this will allow the engine to run smooth while it's warming up. Depending on the climate that you are in, warm up time will vary. After a minute or two in cold climates start pushing the choke knob in, if it starts to run poorly pull it back out too the half position and let it warm up some more. When you can posh the choke in without the engine faltering it is ready to go. In warmer climates you might be able to start the engine without the choke or in the halfway position. Robin Subaru makes some of the finest small engines available. I would choose a Robin over a Honda every time. I hope this gets your generator going, and once again this is based on the generator being in good working order. Good luck, Michael Burke.

TO START ENGINE (See Fig. 3) When starting the engine for the first time or if the engine has run out of fuel, it will take extra cranking time to move fuel from the tank to the engine. • Be sure freewheel control is in the transmission engaged position. • Sit on seat in operating position, depress brake pedal and set parking brake. • Move attachment clutch to "DISENGAGED" position. • Move throttle control to choke position. NOTE: Before starting, read the warm and cold starting procedures below. • Insert key into ignition and turn key clockwise to "START" position and release key as soon as engine starts. Do not run starter continuously for more than fifteen sec onds per minute. If the engine does not start after several attempts, move throttle control to fast position, wait a few minutes and try again. If engine still does not start, move the throttle control back to the choke position and retry. WARM WEATHER STARTING (50° F and above) • When engine starts, move the throttle control to the fast position. • The attachments and ground drive can now be used. If the engine does not accept the load, restart the engine and allow it to warm up for one minute using the choke as described above. COLD WEATHER STARTING ( 50° F and below) • When engine starts, allow engine to run with the throttle control in the choke position until the engine runs roughly, then move throttle control to fast position. This may require an engine warm-up period from several seconds to several minutes, depending on the tem per a ture. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WARM UP • Before driving the unit in cold weather, the trans mis sion should be warmed up as follows: • Be sure the tractor is on level ground. • Release the parking brake and let the brake slowly return to operating position. • Allow one minute for transmission to warm up. This can be done during the engine warm up period. • The attachments can also be used during the engine warm-up period after the transmission has been warmed up. NOTE: If at a high altitude (above 3000 feet) or in cold temperatures (below 32 F) the carburetor fuel mixture may need to be adjusted for best engine performance. See "TO ADJUST CARBURETOR" in the Service and Adjustments section of this manual.

Stalling out

Generally with two cycle engine as soon as the engine starts the choke needs to be moved to the off or open position. Some chokes have a middle position that lets the motor run until it is warm enough to move the choke into the open position. In other words weather it is a two or four cycle engine the choke is used only to start the engine. If you unit is newer and still does not run well with the choke in the open position, you may need to adjust the hi-speed circuit to a richer one.
