This ignition design relies on proper setting of the points in relation to the magneto to produce a spark. It is possible that your aligning pin sheared causing the magneto to be out of place in relation to the points opening. Dirty points, improper gap, and a bad coil will all result in a 'no-spark' condition. Check out the attached video. It is not your bike, but the procedure is the same. How to Set Points

1978 Honda twin star doesn't have spark

It is called Hot coil trouble, but coil doesn't necesarlly need to be hot to fail. It might be hot internally and cold to the touch.
This symptom is caused by excesive resistance on the high voltage side of the coil. When the coil works harder trying to send the current through a high resistance path to the spark plug, it gets hot and quits. There must be a bad connection or a damaged conductor between the coil and the spark plug's ground contact at the screw threads.. Even a too large spark plug's gap could cause enough resitance to cause coil failure. Corroded terminals o broken HT spark plug wire can cause it too. Have you recently replaced something in the high voltage circuit? Check it out. Good luck!

Bike has no spark 1978 xr250 honda

This can be one of five things,

1: The coil is bad
2: The cdi is bad
3: The stator
4: The stator pickup
5: Bad plug

Use a spark plug tester on the coil to test for current, if it doesn't have current to the plug work your way backwards toward the stator, testing each item for current in and out.

I have a Kawasaki KE100 1978 with no spark, and a new magneto that shocks me and a new spark plug but still no spark

You may have spark, but it may be firing at the wrong timing... be sure to check engine timing. Also if you bike is a 78, it could have ignition points that are dirty. The ignition points are located under a side cover and there will be a small camshaft that they ride on to open and close. The points should be opening a small amount to allow the spark to fire. You can take some very fine sand paper and carefully slide the paper between the closed points to clean them, afterward, take a clean business card and pull them thru the points to clean any debris left from sanding them.
Then see if you get spark.
