SOURCE: locating the oil plug

Its more on the lower side than the bottom. The main drain should be a round cap with a hex (lower left if I recall. You will need an extension to reach it. There is a metal screen and spring that will pop out when you loosen the cap. There is a paper filter on the other side under a roundish black cover near the rear. I believe an allen key is needed for removing the cover.

SOURCE: hi cant locate oil plug to drain oil /2006 st bob

It's on the left hand side of the bike, attached to the oil pan, imagine that. Take oil cap off first so that oil will flow freely and faster. Before adding new oil filter (remove old one first) be sure to put some oil on gasket. Remember only hand tight so you don't kill yourself changing it the next time. Adios.

HOW TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION OIL 2017 MB SPRINTER 2500 VAN I CANT FIND WHERE TO PUT OIL BACK IN..I DO SEE A WHITE PLUG WITH A BOLT IS THAT WHERE OIL GOES???

I am not familiar with the model so I can't accurately answer your question.
There has been a number of European transmissions that weren't fitted with an oil filler/level plug, some were fitted with a level plug in the integral differential/final drive housing but the transmission shouldn't be filled through these. There have also been transmissions with no drain plug.

Many of these had to be drained and then refilled from the top of the casing by removing the breather or speedo drive and if no level plug was provided filling was by a measured quantity.

It is advisable to obtain good model specific information before you proceed.

2010 Peugeot 207 gearbox drain/filler/level bungs

The drain plug is situated on the final drive casing at the rear of the transmission (plug may need a square or hex drive wrench).

There is no level plug - the correct qty of oil must be measured and then poured in.
If Petrol 1.9 ltrs, diesel 2.0.

The oil is 75/80w.

Where does the transmission oil go

hi,
if you have an automatic transmission:
towards the front of the engine there is a small pipe bending upwards. under the car there is a bung which must be removed for checking the level. oil is poured into the pipe at the front, and the level is got by allowing the surplus to run out the bung. when checking the oil level the car must be running and in p.

if you have a manual transmission:
there is a hexagonal key bung on the side of the transmission, oil is filled in, until the surplus runs out.

How u doing i wn kn how i could put transmition oil on audi 2000 a6 please

hi,
assuming your car is an auto- transmission.
all directions i am giving you are from the point of view of sitting in the drivers seat, if you look underneath there should be a single bung on the lower- most point of the oil pan, this is for draining and checking the level. to fill oil, there is a short pipe to the left side of the transmission, with a bend pointing up. there is a cap on this which is removed for filling the oil. the correct level is when the car is running in park, the bung removed. when there is correct oil levelyou will see the over flow , comming from the bung. to drain the oil, there is a small tube up in the bung- hole which can be removed with an allen key.

WHERE IS THE FILLER PLUG ON THE GEARBOX ON A 1998 PASSAT TDI PLEASE

Hi,

Just checking.... it is a manual gearbox?

You may need a special tool for the drain plug and a 17mm allen key for the filler (some use the special drain tool for the filler as well)

The drain plug is located under the diff housing.

The filler plug is located on the left (nearside) off the gearbox (look to the left of the hole and you can see the 17mm hex filler bung).

Check you can undo the filler bung, then drain the gearbox oil.

Refit drain bung and fill gearbox through filler/level ********* until gearbox oil is up to the level of the filler bung.

Refit, test drive, check for leaks and retest level again when cold.

Cheers,

Gear OIL in Daewoo Leganza SX manual transmission

CHECKING FLUID LEVEL
1. With the vehicle on a level surface and the fluid in the transaxle cold, remove the filler plug and check the fluid level. The fluid should come to the bottom edge of the plug hole.
2. If the level is low, add SAE 80 manual transaxle fluid through the filler plug hole until the fluid begins to run out.
3. Reinstall the filler plug and tighten it securely. The speed gears and the synchronizer parts on this vehicle receive lubrication through specific passages in the mainshaft. It takes 1.8 liters (1.90 quarts) to fill the transaxle completely.
its located next to drive shaft some on left hand side others on right hand side depending what gearbox.

How do u check fluid level on a manual transmission

This has to be done form under the vehicle for a rear wheel drive vehicle. I am not too certain what is the setup for a front wheel drive, but from experience, there is ususally a bung that has to be slacked, and if fluid comes out, it means the level is ok. Or u can use ur finger to c how far from the ********* the oil level is at. The level should be somewhere around there. If not add oil. this bung is commonly located at about half way up the gearbox (manual transmission)
