You spent all that money on a Harley but didn't buy a workshop manual.

What is codes p1111 and po447

the valve timing solenoid is what advances /retards the valve timing according to the requirement pre-set in the CPU program. If this solenoid is malfunctioning then the valve timing will be out and the cam shaft position sensor becomes unbalanced with the CPU setting and raises the fault code

The vent valve solenoid will produce problems with fuel flow and running and filling of the tank. I suggest that you have both checked and repaired by an accredited specialist shop that is conversant with you car.

How do I set the timing

Are you trying to set the ignition or valve timing ? The ignition timing is factory set and changes with engine rpm - you can set the air gap between the flywheel and the ignition unit which should be around 0.25mm (0.010") Excessive air gap will retard the ignition timing. Unless you\'ve had the engine apart, the valve timing won\'t need re-setting. The valve clearances will need setting from time time and the clearance between valve and rocker is 0.1mm and is adjusted with both valves closed and piston at the top of it\'s stroke - you should replace the gasket and copper washer at the same time.

How do I set the valve timing on my 2007 Astra 1.3 cdti when there is no timing hole on the bell housing

If therewere a hole to view as on other cars you would be setting "Ignition " timing Valve timing is done at the gears one on the crank & one on the cam shaft ,if so there is mark on each gear ,You should rfer to specific specs. in a book for that model & year.. You have to open the case cover for that. Are you refering to setting the "valve lash" ? If so you need to refer to "valve clearence or valve lash" specifications chart, If adjustable. Either way always check a manual for specific needs.

I HAVE A 1998 EL FALCON. WE REPLACED HEAD AND FITTED NEW TIMING CHAIN AND GUIDES. BY FOLLOWING MANUAL WE HAVE SET VALVE TIMING MARKS. BUT VALVES ARE OPEN WHEN SHOULD BE CLOSED. HAVE EVEN HAD FORD EXPERT ...

the piston has to be on tdc
the valves have to be in the valve rock position
that is the exhaust is just starting to close at the same time as the inlet is just starting to open
the number of links should now be at the timing marks or the timing marks should line up when the crank is turned one full revolution

How do i set cam position and timing on an old yamaha xt 500

You didn't say WHY the cam / valve timing needs to be reset. For some reason I get the feeling someone told you that resetting was needed and so you are asking how. Obviously, you may have installed new pistons and that is why the resetting is needed. In either event, when the cam timing is set the valve timing is also set. Other than adjusting valve lash, setting the cam sets the valve timing. Below is a web site where you can do a free download of a factory service manual. The process is not hard but having a manual will be more help and faster help than I can give online.

1995 acura how do u set the vals and timming

First you will need a service manual or information for this vehicle for the valve lash setting. The procedure is usually removing the valve cover( You will need a new valve cover gasket) putting the # 1 cylinder on top dead center and using wrench, screw driver or allen key,and a feeler gauge. You will need to follow the firing order when adjusting the valves. You will need a timing light to set the timing and also the timing spec. This usually involves warming engine to normal operating temp. clean harmonic balancer and mark the timing mark with some white paint loosen the the distributor hold down bolt hook up timing light and turn distributor until the timing mark on the balancer lines up with the timing mark on the timing cover then tighten the holding bolt back down. Also the timing advance has to be disabled when setting the timing and enabled when you are done. The valves should be set first then set the timing. A Haynes manual available at your local auto parts store should contain pictures and information to help you do this.
