Vin is a 17 digit code A motorcycle's VIN is usually located on the steering neck under the handlebars, but sometimes on the engine or on the frame near the engine so please check your vin again.
you can also check at https://thevinsearch.com/vin-decoder

SOURCE: decode pre 1980 motorcycle (yamaha) vin #

Call a Yamaha dealer. If they can't de-code the antique VIN then Google " Yamaha Motor Corporation USA " > and find a number for customer relations. Make enough calls and someone is bound to be able to help.

Look at me, I'm helping!

2003 vULCAN 800 cLASSIC HOW DO i GET MY MODEL NUMBER FOR EOM PARTS

Vin numbers give all the info you need. Call a dealership and they can tell you. If there is a data plate, it also has the model on it.

I need a serial number to vin decoder for a 2150 mule kawasaki utv

Generally the VIN and the serial number are the same unless you are looking for a s/n on a specific part of the machine. Don't know of a VIN decoder that will do that. Why not just try a Kawasaki dealer?

Need year of engine

The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is the same year as decoded from the frame number. If it is not the original engine, you are hosed as to determining the year of the engine. The engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless since they only denote the engine size, assembly plant, and sequence of that engine in a production run. You can go to the site below and enter the frame number into the VIN decoder to get the year and other information. Note; back in 1985 the manufacturers adopted 17 digit VIN. If you have less than 17 digits you are out of luck. Please rate my answer. Thanks. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/kawasaki.asp

http://www.analogx.com/contents/vinview.htm

Check out this web site, they can decode any vin number, i ran my bikes through there, no problem , came right up. All vin numbers carry the same code, the 10th digit is the year, it might be in code, might not. Check it out, hope this helps.
