Obviously fuel starvation, start by replacing the fuel filter in the fuel tank on the end of the fuel hose, check the fuel lines from the tank up to the carb for signs of leaks, cracks or damage, replace if required, there is a filter in the carb itself, so the next thing is to remove and clean the carb.

You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.

Hi sounds like it could need a diaphram kit in the carby if it has mixture screws one markedl for low speed and one marked h for high speed you can try winding out the low speed screw a bit but if that does not work it will definatly need a kit.

SOURCE: Craftsman 32cc Trimmer Runs with choke at idle, then stalls

Sounds like somewhere you have a air leak. Most likely it's somewhere near the carburetor intake or maybe the carb itself. Could be a line from the primer if it has one and i do believe it should that could be leaking or loose. Good luck.

Strimmer. Takes a while to start, but once started OK. Let run on full choke for 5mins. Off choke after engine warm, strim cuts out after a minute. Start again, no problem, and cuts out again.

This machine is running too lean ( insufficient fuel getting to the cylinder ) things that make it run too lean are.
Blocked fuel filter in the fuel tank.
Cracked or split fuel pipe.
Incorrect settings on the carb.
Dirt or blockage in the carb
Diaphragm's hardened in the carb
Things you can do yourself, hook the pipe out of the fuel tank and replace the filter on the end, if you are not mechanically minded you will need somebody to service the carb, and re set it for you.

Mcculloch petrol strimmer

Agnes take of the cutting head again and see if it runs at full speed without it. If it does you have either put the head on too tight or it's the wrong head.

Turns over but dose not start, spark plug sparking ok

Check you have petrol if the bike has not been run for sometime replace the fuel. Petrol ages and causes all manner of problems.
Are you trying to start the bike but it has gone onto reserve, move the fuel tap to the reserve position then try to start it. If the above fails, then try these:-
Is the spark plug wet when removed. If dry it sounds like the petrol is not getting through. Try opening the filler cap and leave it open, make sure the kill switch is in the run position. Try starting with the throttle full open. Does the bike have a manual choke try to start with the throttle shut, choke off, then full on, then while continuing to turn over move the choke lever in stages from fully on to fully off. I find on my Yam TW125 (winter and bad weather hack) that if I have not used it for a while sharp twist the throttle a couple of times no more than a third of a turn. Hope this helps.

Sovereign strimmer HS-PT-2538

I had this problem once when machine was hot it was difficult to restart, I've found putting choke on slightly, about a quarter of the way, and not touching the throttle will see it starting, then put choke back off and leave it to idle for 20 - 30 seconds before using. Seems to be a characteristic of this strimmer.

Starting up Ryobi Petrol Strimmer

full choke on , push petrol bubble 5 times then pull starter cord., with luck it will kick in to life after a 20/30 secs put on half choke , run again for 30 secs the no ckoke.

The main problem with Ryobi products is that they flood very very easly. So the more time you try and pump petrol into the carb the more it will flood . If that happenes then choke off and switch off and then just pull starter cord for about 30 secs then switch on and it could start if not prime it again as above good luck

Can't start the strimmer. It is a petrol strimmer, Partner Colibri. Is there a technique other than pulling the cord? Does it need more than just petrol? would be pleased if you could help. Regards...

Start procedure, switch the ignition switch on, press the primer bulb as many times as it takes to 3/4 fill the bulb, put the choke to the full position, hold the throttle trigger open, crank the engine until it fires once, move the choke to the centre position, crank the engine until it fires up and runs, once warm move the choke to the open position.
