1998 Heritage had aftermarket rear led turn signals mounted on the fender struts, they were very small and hard to see.So i want to replace them bigger incandecent lights. My question is ;Can I use the

The aftermarket LED's will likely have a signal reducer in-line that will have to be removed before you put standard lights in. The reason it will have these, are because when you replace OEM lights with after market LED's they have a tendancy to HYPER-FLASH. Simply because they are computer controlled instead of flasher controlled.

How to wire aftermarket turn signals

The stock rear function ONLY as turn signals, while the fronts ALSO function as running lights (hence the extra wire).
On the aftermarkets, one wire will be the ground (usually BLACK).
The stock setup probably grounded through the metal casing.
The aftermarket housings MIGHT be plastic, so they need a separate ground wire.
Myself, I'd reverse them and wire the 3 wires to the rear, to have them act as extra brake lights also.

2009 VRSCF

Here's a quick take from the official H-D release. The wide, angular air-box cover and chopped tail section look as solid and smooth as billet and give the new V-Rod Muscle lines that are clean and powerful. The size of the massive 240 mm rear tire is accentuated by the new broad, clipped and clean rear fender. The combination stop/tail/turn LED light is tucked under the edge of the rear fender, and the side-mount license plate leaves the fender surface smooth and uncluttered. Front-end styling balances the rear, with a trimmed fender that's blacked out behind satin-finished inverted forks and LED turn signals integrated into the mirror stems. The radiator shrouds are restyled and color-matched to the rest of the bodywork, while the new airbox side covers incorporate air scoop inlets covered with woven wire mesh. The silver five-spoke cast aluminum front and rear wheels are a new design for the V-Rod line.
