Cork flooring has lots of advantages. It is scratch resistant, if you have pet at home, you will get the advantage of cork flooring. Cork flooring is resistant to mold, termite and fire-resistant too. You can get cork floor with water based finishes, using polyurethane coatings. Cork is more vulnerable to damage than hardwood. The disadvantage of cork is it's softness. It make cork flooring less durable than hardwood flooring. Hardwood floor is long lasting and repairing also easy for this.

I am wondering what cork flooring is. I am needing to fix something with my floor and someone told me I needed a new cork flooring. I don't understand.

I am not sure what flooring you have at the moment but sounds to me like someone is trying to sell you something. IF you already have cork flooring then it can be repaired, get another opinion from some other company. cork flooring comes in tiles that are laid down like other tiles with glue, it is recycled cork that has been compressed/glued/heated into flat hard sheets then cut into tile squares kind of like particle board. inexpensive and soft under the feet, good insulter as well. hope this gives you some clarity. always get a second opinion. take care, good luck.
