There will not be a "check engine" light or code...try shortening the length of the gas nozzle that you are inserting...after a few fill ups, the vented system should be purged.

Your Elantra like most cars and trucks has a safety ventilated fill tank...first try pulling the gas nozzle out of your tank about one inch or two while filling at the pump...this should keep the hose from auto shut/off but be careful as you are eliminating a safety shut off...you may need to do this several times at different stops for gas until you surprisingly notice that you don't need to do this any longer...the system will eventually bleed the air out, and return to normal fill operation. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: fill up with gas

i had the same problem, you have to change the perge control valve, its on the back of the engine below where the plastic intake pipe meets the metal intake manifold on the back side of the engine between the engine block and the firewall, on the underside of your car hood you will see a vacume system diagram, it will illistrate where the valve is, it should cost about 30 bucks or so at a hyundai dealership

SOURCE: I own a 1999 Hyundai Elantra 4 door the Heater will not work

Black rubber vacuum hoses are often a cause for heater failure, especially in older cars. Anytime the hood is up and engine is cool start inspecting and following these hoses as far as possible. They should be firm, springy upon pressing and fairly smooth. If soft, crumbly, powdery, oily, stiff/inflexible etc. they should be replaced. The ends should fit very tight over their fittings. Vacuum hose is not expensive so just replace any which are suspect. You may get lucky and find a leaker. If not you have eliminated a future leak. Be sure to mention the vac. hoses have been replaced if you need to write back and ask more questions.

2000 elantra, when you are fueling up it keep shuttng of the automatic stop on the pump, have tried different stations, so i assume it to be a vehicle problem. did not see anything that would obstruct...

if some one has tried to suck gas with a hose. they could have pushed the vent line back in the tank . There is a 3/4 line inside your 2 inch to releave presure. have line checked.

06 elantra not getting hot air while stopped.

if your sure the radiator is full, the only difference between highway speed and slowing to a stop is engine RPM's.
That means the water pump is not turning as fast,
It's possible the water pump is going bad,you should ask a Hyundai dealer if there are any TSB's on this problem.

Gas problems with my 2001 Hyundai Elantra

remove the fuel tank and check that all the hoses connected to and from the tank are not clogged and in good condition...the reason why the fuel pump clicks is that it senses that there is fuel near the nozzle of the hose which means that the fuel you're putting isn't draining as fast as it should be
