Fuel runs out of carbs when cranking engine

Long crank after hot soak is usually caused by a leaking fuel injector that's flooding the engine. Depress the gas pedal while cranking when hot to see if that makes a difference. If it does, try adding a fuel injector cleaner to your gas tank. Chevron Techron or RedLine fuel system cleaner.

If you take the fuel line off at the carb and crank the engine, does the pump push fuel out of the line ?

no you have to drop your gas tank clean it out. if you didn't start then just clean gas lines. if you started it then you need a new engine. the sugar gets in the engine and turns to syrup. bad engine.

Disconnect your fuel line from the Fuel tank, take off the fuel filter and allow it to drain. Renew fuel filter and fill filter cup with diesel. Open line going to the injectors from the filter cup and allow to drain. Turn on the ignition while the line is disconnected and allow the pump to flow clearing any residual gas, do not crank the engine. With the fuel line disconnected from the injector, remove the glow plug relay. Crank the engine several times for 10-15 seconds at a time to cycle the fuel through without spark. Re-connect the fuel lines and replace the relay. Make sure that you have primed your fuel system as if you had ran out of fuel which by this point it already should be. Start the engine and run for 5 seconds, shut off, repeat this start cycle several times and you should be good.

This is a Saturn ion i do not think there is and i would not even start this car if you even think there may be sugar in the tank,Water can cause a little damage but not really as long as there is gas mixed but still do not run engine. sugar is bad!!. this will cause lots of damage. converter, injectors and cylinder wall damage.
You will need to drop tank and drain it out and then flush it out good. then drain fuel lines and replace the fuel filter. after you are done i would put in a bottle of dry gas and a fuel injector cleaner additive in the tank.
Note ' make sure to flush tank good, When fuel lines are removed the fuel in lines should drain back out of lines. the only problem is what is in the fuel rail and injectors, this is why i said to add injector cleaner and dry gas additive to help if there is any small amount of water left in tank. hope this helps ,good luck.

not good needs whole sysyem flushed and some stuff like injectirs might have to be replaced along with fuel pump

This truck is fuel injected, the problem sounds like a weak fuelpump, it runs when you pour gas into it until that gas runs out, the first thing is to test the fuel preasure, if the pump is weak it may run with gas poured into it but wont idle, also a common problem is the coolant temp sensor and the ground wires to thermostat housing bolt but i wont bet its the pump inside the fuel tank, if you put a fuel gauge on it there should be at least 55-61 psi if its a few pounds lower it can cause problems, you have everything else and it runs with gas poured so its a fuel problem check the preasure, theres a valve up top on the fuel line to connect a fuel gauge to it, start there hope this is helpful.

Was there any gas in the car before you added 5 gallons? If there was, it is the problem. The gas goes bad, especially if left in the car unused that long. The system will need to be flushed out (lines, tank, carb/or injectors cleaned.
Also, carefully inspect the entire brake system, as flex. rubber lines can dry rot, steel lines may be rusty (if rust was present when parked, even though the garage is dry). You will probably need to disassemble the calipers and brake cylinders, clean them, and flush the system out. Your tires probably need to be replaced also, as they may fail under high temp conditions (dry rot). I have stored cars over the years, not always in the best conditions, and the worst thing for a car is to have it sit unused.

you'll need to remove the tank and drain it and clean it. replace the fuel filter and unhook the fuel line from the injector... turn the key on and let the fuel pump run till all you are getting out of the hose is gas.

most gas tanks don't have a drain plug.can eith try siphoning it out with a hose called a magic siphoning hose or disconnect the fuel line and put the line in a container to catch the bad gas.
