Should be mounted in gear box, not going to be an easy repair.

Our 2006 Honda TRX ATV will not recognize that it is in neutral and will not start. Have a new battery and all other lights work except the light to neutral gear. Any ideas?

This natural switch is bad find sensor and unplug then use a piece of wire jump switch and bike should start then replace switch

JUST REPAIRED BROKEN WIRE LEADING TO MY KICKSTAND BIKE WILL START IN NUTRAL BUT SHUT OFF WHEN PUT IN GEAR ALSO IM HAVING PROBLEM WITH BATTERY NOT RECHARGING ON THE BIKE

Your bike apparently has a safety mechanism where the engine shuts off while in gear, if the side stand is extended. The wire you fixed may not have been fixed properly. There is a switch at the end of that wire which senses the kick stand position. See if that switch is working properly. You can bypass the switch by shorting the wire, but remember it's a safety mechanism and it's better to keep it fixed.

Xlr 125 wont start do i have to pull the clutch in to start it

You need to put it into neutral in order to start it or pull the clutch and hold it down until started. I would suggest putting it into neutral. Double check that you have it in neutral by trying to push the bike without holding down the clutch when you think you have it in neutral. If the bike rolls easily, then you know its in neutral. If it won't push or seems hard to get it to roll forward then you know its still in gear. Once you have it in neutral (for sure), hold the clutch down and start the bike.

Othen than that, all you have to do is make sure its turned on and it should start. Some bikes use a key to turn it on, others have a throttle control switch. We had Suzuki Quad racers which were 2 stroke - and are a little different.

Hi!!!!! i have an kawasaki zx6r 1998 and it dosent want to start , i started it 2 days ago, but today it dosent want i charged battery, and when i push start button it dosent do nothing, i checked coil...

Check the clutch, neutral and side stand safety interlocks.
Double check that the bike is in neutral, and the clutch is pulled in when trying to start the bike.
If the bike is in gear with the side stand down, the bike cuts off all ignition.
If the clutch isn't pulled in, the starter won't engage.
Check all these safety interlock switches, and make sure you are in neutral with the clutch in when trying to start the bike.

When I put the key into the ignition in the on position the oil light comes on but I can't seem to get the bike into neutral so that the neutral indicator is on, so therefore I can't start the bike...

Sound like the neutral switch is buggered? a lot of people bypass this by simply unplugging it from the loom. The pulling in the clutch to start is another safety thing & often that switch craps out & gives problems.

Both my clutch & neutral switches are bypassed as there are no spares shops in the desert.

I have 2007 sportsman 450 and when i go to start it it will turn over then like the starter will disengage befor the motor will start . Is it my starter or what do you thick

i have the same bike and mine was doing that the other day. i think there must be a neutral safety switch that has gone bad. try putting the quad in high or low range them pull the hand brake at the same time and try to start it. worked for me

New ATV. Ran 1 hour. Sitting for 6 months. Changed gas - but is popping back through carb

sounds like the gas that was left in the carb. has turned bad and clogged the jets. the only right way to fix it is to pull the carb off the bike and take the bottom bowl off. once done you can take some carb. cleaner and spray out all the jets and crevices inside the carb. hopefully this fixes your problem. if not then you will need to pull the carb. completely apart and give it a good soaking. once you have soaked it for an hour or so take some compressed air and blow out any holes. be sure to blow it out good. once done put the carb. back together and give it a shot. this should fix it right up for ya.

Bmw r1100rt will not start. lights etc come on put will not turn over

IF absolutely nothing happens when you hit the start button ( not even lights dimming ) then I would start by checking the safety switches.
If memory serves me that bike wont start while on the sidestand. The driver must be on the bike with the side stand up and the clutch lever pulled all the way in. Id start with those two switched first.
