Hello. I own a YZF-R6 Yamaha motorcycle, model 2009, which I brought last year from the USA to Germany (as I came here to study for one and a half years). I recently had an accident with my motorcycle while traveling in Sweden and I am now trying to decide what best to do with it. My original plan, before the accident, was to return the bike to the USA and afterwards sell it there. Now, I am still thinking of taking it back but rather wait to have it repaired there instead of repairing it in Germany (since I do not plan to use it here any more anyhow). Would it be possible for you to give me a broad estimate of what the repairs could cost if I send you pictures of the damages? They were all aesthetic damages (broken mirrors, headlights, front cowlings, plus bent handlebars, a dent in the fuel tank and broken back side covers; and also some minor scratches on the side cowlings), but no mechanical malfunction seams to have been caused. I will appreciate your comment.

    Thanks for your input Emissionwiz,
I have already been looking at parts that I consider might have to be replaced, by going to webpages likehttp://www.yamahapartsnation.com andhttp://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com. However, one thing which I ask myself is if one usually needs to buy the complete set of the parts as "Cowling 1", "Cowling 2", "Headlights" and so on, or if usually it is just a portion of the set that you actually need since some accessories and minor parts making part of the set can be reused. For instance, thinking about the "seats" and the "fuel tank" the estimated costs may vary considerably if assuming only the seat cover and the tank's metallic shell are required, comparing to getting the complete "seat" and "fuel tank" sets. Shall the estimate cost of parts be probably reduced if assessed directly by an expert who inspects the damage in detail?

Any other estimates? And is there a way I can post some pictures of the damages so this can be taken into account in your responses? Thanks.

I had a very similar accident on my Suzuki GSX750, I did the work myself of installing the parts, the insurance estimate was $3500.00 That was for fairings, new mirrors, new exhaust pipes, and turn signals front and rear, for the additional damage you have of the gas tank an headlights I would add at least $500.00 more for parts. Below is a link to a parts site that has diagrams of all the parts on the bike with prices, I suggest you do the whole list and then add about 7 hours labor at your local rate.

You will need to have the seat recovered, that runs about $100.00

As far as the tank goes if it must be repainted to match you are looking at around $500.00

I think the estimate i gave you will be close, i have destroyer 3 *** bikes up to now, and the parts required to fix the bike are almost always the same ones.

2009 yamaha yzf r6 color wiring diagram

I have an 08 r6 and mice chewed up some wires from previous owner. I have repaired all wires. I am not getting power to the top injectors. I have tested them individually and they spray no problem. Anyone have a wiring color code? One that actually says ie.. starter wire= grey/black as an example. The list is what im looking for. I need to know what color wire supplies those injectors. Thanks
