The ......fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail near the rear of the intake manifold it is round in shap. i would first check to see if you have a problem with your O2 sensors. also i would have the TPS sensor checked. the TPS is what controls your idle. it is located on the throttle body is black in color and has a weatherproof plug to it. please rate this.........thanks
yeah a bad O2 can cause it to run rich it measure the exaust gas and tells the computer to adjust accordingly.yeah a bad O2 can cause it to run rich it measure the exaust gas and tells the computer to adjust accordingly.

You really need a garage to diagnose why. You may have insufficient fuel pressure, or the injectors may be blocked if you have been running the tank low.
But first, check this fuse in the Engine Bay
ECM ICiN
PCM/VCM Ignition, Injectors, Crank Sensor, Coil Driver Module
Lets start at the beginning. Did anyone check fuel pressure before and after replacing the pump ? Has anyone checked the fuel pressure regulator and the injector spider ? The 4.3w engine uses a spider with one injector that supplies all 6 cylinders. And it runs at 65psi or more.
Ive had a few of those ,,have someone check ,,ur coil packs,,they go bad ,,make em skip and drink gas ,,and u want even no,,,usally the problem with those,,,good luck
i have a 1994 gmc jimmy 4.3l cpi. i could not pass the emission test.hard to start, spuddered, and smell of gas was strong. long story short, i replaced my spider injectors, good to go. $278 brand new from auto zone.
GMC Jimmy's have a record of corroded fuel lines at the fuel pump in the fuel tank. Cycle your key from "Off" to "Run" a couple times then look under the vehicle in the fuel tank area to see if there is gas dripping.
HI
P0300 is multiple misfires.
P0171 is lean burn on left bank 1 means drivers side
02 sensor is faulty. Your vehicle is over fuelling that is why your are getting P0300 code and the rotten egg smell. Good idea is to replace both 02 sensors.
