Hello I have a 94 GMC s15 Jimmy it sputters on take off then at fiftymph it snaps back to life very bad smell of gas out of exhaust replaced plugs cap rotor fuel pressure regulator tempsens tps spider

check for a faulty / blocked accelerator pump /circuit as this fits the lack of fuel squirt on acceleration description. Also check the timing of the ignition.
This sounds like an ignition problem. Check the ignition coil. Low spark voltage can cause this. As well, the amplifier module in the HEI distributer could be at fault.
Yes but the spider is under the manifold... Pull your oil dipstick, if your oil smells heavy of gas, then the spider is busted. If not. check the big plug on top/center of your engine for dirt/moisture
did it happend right after you tune it up if not and it was there before check the egr valve try disconecing it then test drive it if it goes away replace your egr valve let me know if it dont work so i can try helping you
i have a 1994 gmc jimmy 4.3l cpi. i could not pass the emission test.hard to start, spuddered, and smell of gas was strong. long story short, i replaced my spider injectors, good to go. $278 brand new from auto zone.
