Help!!! How to install windshield in 1956 Ford Thunderbird

I will tell you what I have witnessed, but you may be able to find Youtube video on how to install a fixed window.

One trick is to use a small rope to line the perimeter of the window gasket and when the glass is next to the rut in the gasket, pull the rope to allow the glass to displace the rope and seat the glass in the gasket rut. Some use the rope on the outer perimeter of the rubber seal and try to have the seal attached to the glass and pull the rope through the metal frame and seat the rubber gasket with glass into the metal window opening.

Glass shop. The suction cups will help. They travel to locations. They have the gasket sealers. Although they can not sell you the glass, they can sell you labor to install it. Offer to pay a premium since they are not making any money on the glass.

Can i tighten the crank shaft pully on a 99 chevy lumina

If that is the case, it is not the pulley itself that is loose, it is the outer ring of the pulley separating from the center hub. There is a rubber spacer in there that shrinks over time and allows the outer rim of the pulley where the serpentine belt rides to move either inward or outward. Eventually it leads to belt damage and breakage, and in worst-case scenario, the outer ring can come off the pulley entirely and can cause damage to the radiator or other parts. It cannot be repaired, it must be replaced as a unit. Do it sooner than later to save yourself grief.

Why is the harmonic balance eating into the timing cover?

On most vehicles today, the crankshaft pulley acts as the harmonic balancer. It also has the grooved outer ring that the serpentine belt rides on. Between the central hub of the balancer and the outer ring is a strip of rubber that the outer ring is pressed onto. This rubber, over time, ages and shrinks. This allow the outer ring to walk inward (or outward) of the centerline of the pulley. This causes the serpentine belt to wear out prematurely and can cause the problem you describe. You need a new harmonic balancer. It comes complete with the rubber and outer ring already attached. Check your belt at the same time to see if it needs replaced as well.

Passport 1994 model refuses to accelerate, moves very slowly after the first 100km of my trip

I just read a rather lengthy dissertation from some other frustrated owner with the same kind of problem. He had 2 causes: The first was low fuel pressure that a new pump fixed. The other was the harmonic balancer (on front of engine, bottom pulley of timing belt). It has a metal inner and outer ring with rubber sandwiched in between. For some reason the rubber had gotten hot and allowed the outer ring (cam timing) to move compared to the inner ring (crank timing). Once the balancer cooled down, the rubber seemed solid again. The timing mark on the outer ring should line up with the key slot on the inner ring.

I replaced the thermostat on my 1996 Ford Taurus Duratec DOHC 6cyl and now have a leak in the housing unit. As taken apart (I don't believe I have this messed up), I put in the gasket, then the thermostat...

You might try alldata.com, but you'll have to pay for it and it's based on the Chilton's manual. So, that may not help you.

Have you thought of using silicon gasket maker on the metal to metal part?

What makes a harmonic balancer go bad on a 1983 chevy silverado 305 v-8?

it can go bad from the seal in the timing chain cover rubbing the outer diameter of the balancer shaft and causing a deep groove,or it has lost the rubber o-ring that is between the main body and the outer body throwing it out of balance and not repairable

95 Geo Tracker AC line

Question: Is fitting leaking at the compressor or at the rubber hose end.

If leaking at the compressor hard line fitting. Try replacing "o"ring.
If leaking at the rubber hose end. Remove line and take to a HVAC shop that can replace "barrier hose (rubber hose using your fittings)

Any repair will require discharging the system.

I have a 94 tracker with hoses leaking. I would recommend replacing the rubber hose sections on both suction and liquid lines at the same time. You will have to discharge the system for either repair.
I would also recommend replacing all "o" rings accessible at this time along with a receiver dryer.

I work in the Auto parts sales for a large after market parts supply company and have found that hoses are not available from anybody, including a dealer for my 94 tracker. The system is very expensive to repair if you can find parts.

Hope this will help.
