It can go bad from the seal in the timing chain cover rubbing the outer diameter of the balancer shaft and causing a deep groove,or it has lost the rubber o-ring that is between the main body and the outer body throwing it out of balance and not repairable

I have a ford f-250 with 460 engine. 1983 model and have to replace the front crank seal. how much trouble is it?I already have the radiator off and replacing it.

You'll need to remove the crankshaft pulley and the harmonic balancer, which you'll need a harmonic balancer removal tool. The center bolt is usually on really tight. You can use a seal puller to remove the crankshaft seal from the timing cover.

Where is the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors on a 1998 Silverado with a 5.0 Liter 305 V8?

The camshaft position sensor is the distributor on the back top of engine. The crankshaft position sensor is right behind the harmonic balancer on the front of the engine
